What you'll see and do
This fascinating adventure begins with an early morning pick-up from your hotel. We will take you on a two-and-a-half-hour drive to Cusipata for an energizing breakfast. Then, we will continue by road towards Sicuani, appreciating the great blue lagoon of Langui in the distance, which stretches for more than 15 km; we will pass close to its shores before continuing to the starting point in Layo. Once there, we will begin a challenging uphill hike for approximately two hours. We will walk through a path full of grasslands, impressive reddish soils, accompanied by the typical fauna of the area: alpacas, llamas, and if we are lucky, we will see kestrels, peregrine falcons or the famous condor flying in the air. When we reach Pallay Punchu del Apu Taqllo, which translated from Quechua means “woven poncho”, you will be able to climb the ridges and feel like you are flying over the surface of another planet.

Alberto and Wilson are awesome!!!!!
We had an amazing experience with Alberto as our tour guide and Wilson as our driver. Wilson picked us up promptly on time, bright and early, at 4am and was able to safely navigate the narrow, windy roads to Pallay Punchu. Alberto was an extremely knowledgeable guide — he answered all of our questions about history and nature with enthusiasm. Alberto was extremely supportive, patiently and attentively helping us up the steep climb to Pallay Punchu as we were having issues acclimating to the 4,700m+ altitude. Alberto helped one person in our group carry her bag and helped others in our group descend the steep, slippery and sometimes scary path (to those afraid of heights). On top of all that, Alberto took us to all the scenic spots and helped us take tons of photos. Overall, Alberto and Wilson were fantastic — we wouldn’t rather venture to Pallay Punchu with anyone else!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your amazing review! We’re truly delighted to hear that you had such a memorable experience at Pallay Punchu with Alberto and Wilson. It’s wonderful to know that Wilson’s safe driving and punctuality, along with Alberto’s knowledge, patience, and support, made your journey both comfortable and enjoyable. We’re especially happy that Alberto was there to help your group through the challenges of the high altitude and the steep trail, while also making sure you could fully enjoy the incredible scenery and capture lasting memories with beautiful photos. Your kind words mean a great deal to us, and we’ll be sure to share them with both Alberto and Wilson. Thank you for your trust and for choosing us. We hope to welcome you back for another unforgettable adventure in Peru!

Pallay Punchu with Alberto: A 5-Star Adventure You Can’t Miss
We had an amazing experience with this tour company from start to finish. Everything was well-organized, punctual, and exceeded our expectations. The highlight of the trip was our guide, Alberto—he was incredibly knowledgeable, professional, and made the entire experience fun and engaging. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone felt comfortable and got the most out of the tour. Visiting Pallay Punchu was absolutely breathtaking. Out of the three color mountains, it is by far the most stunning in my opinion. It’s also a much better alternative to the overcrowded Rainbow Mountain—the views are the best, and you can truly take in the scenery without the large crowds. That made the whole experience feel more authentic and enjoyable. If you’re looking for a top-notch tour with great service and attention to detail, I highly recommend this company. Ask for Alberto—you won’t regret it!
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for sharing such a detailed and thoughtful review of your experience at Pallay Punchu Mountain. We are truly delighted to hear that everything—from organization and punctuality to the overall experience—exceeded your expectations. Creating smooth and memorable journeys is always our goal, and it’s wonderful to know you felt that throughout the tour. We especially appreciate your kind words about Alberto. His knowledge, professionalism, and dedication to making each experience engaging and comfortable are qualities we highly value. We will be very happy to share your feedback with him. It’s great to know that you found Pallay Punchu to be such a breathtaking and authentic destination. As you mentioned, its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere make it a fantastic alternative for those looking to enjoy incredible landscapes away from large crowds. Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting us. We hope to welcome you back soon for another unforgettable adventure in Cusco.

The most beautiful hike ever!
We had a great trip with Edward and Dante. Pallay Punchu was the most mesmerizing experience we had. The altitude and slopes were on the challenging side, but Edward gave us all the right support to make us feel safe, comfortable, and brave to get the most out of the experience. Besides, he took great pictures. The views from the top of sharp colorful mountains, far away icy glaciers, and two lagoons are incomparable. We also really enjoyed an improvised stop to try local delicacy dish; it was the most amazing lamb we have ever tried. Meeting hundreds of lamas in the wild was a wonderful addition to the day.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your wonderful and detailed feedback. We are truly delighted to hear that your experience at Pallay Punchu was so mesmerizing and memorable. Its unique landscapes, with colorful sharp mountains, distant glaciers, and lagoons, действительно create a one-of-a-kind adventure. It is great to know that, despite the altitude and challenging terrain, Edward provided the support and confidence you needed to fully enjoy the journey. He will be very happy to receive your kind words, especially knowing he helped make the experience both safe and enjoyable—and captured great photos along the way. We are also glad that you enjoyed the spontaneous cultural moments, like trying local food and encountering llamas in their natural environment. These details truly make the experience even more special and authentic. We sincerely appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you again for another unforgettable adventure.

Exciting!
It was an unparalleled experience from beginning to end! Starting with delicious breakfast in the middle of the Andes! The van gets very close to the track, so the walking time is quite short, although demanding due to the altitude and tilt, the climb does not take more than 50 minutes. During the climb our guide Nilto was very patient and attentive, waited when we needed to rest, gave us the hand to help go down the steepest parts, showed the best places for the photos and took lots of photos for us! I was quite excited because there were only us 3 on the mountain, just the noise of the wind and the lovely landscape!

The beautiful Pallay Poncho
Beautiful experience with the guide Alberto and the driver Alfredo! Pallay Poncho is an equally beautiful destination in the Rainbow Mountains, but little known so with very few tourists! Alberto was kind and helpful, very professional! Highly recommended

Excursion to Pallay Punchu with Coca Ceremony || Prívate Tour ||: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Excursion to Pallay Punchu with Coca Ceremony || Prívate Tour || cost?
+
Prices start at $120 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Excursion to Pallay Punchu with Coca Ceremony || Prívate Tour || take?
+
Plan for about 7.1 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Excursion to Pallay Punchu with Coca Ceremony || Prívate Tour || worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 5 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Excursion to Pallay Punchu with Coca Ceremony || Prívate Tour ||?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Excursion to Pallay Punchu with Coca Ceremony || Prívate Tour || suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 7.1-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Excursion to Pallay Punchu with Coca Ceremony || Prívate Tour ||?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 7.1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Excursion to Pallay Punchu with Coca Ceremony || Prívate Tour || start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
