What you'll see and do

  1. Chefchaouen Medina

During this seven-hour excursion departing from Tangier, let yourself be driven to the heights of the Rif mountains, up to Chefchaouen, a former Berber post which now houses a superb walled medina. The main square represents the heart of Chefchaouen and presents a kasbah built in the eighteenth century, a central mosque and coffees menus authentically Moroccan. The market, crowded, offers a mix of utensils and Moroccan souvenirs, with excellent deals. The city itself is easy to explore. The Kasbah, built by Moulay Ismaïl, is now in ruins and at its side is the Great Mosque. Although the old medina is small, you will find many souks selling a wide variety of products. Finally, take a tour through the Jewish quarter behind the jeweler's shop to experience the difference in style and atmosphere compared to the main Arab part.

Could not have been better! 🙌

Our tour of Chefchaouen with Abdul was an absolute highlight of our trip. His guidance provided us with a magical experience that truly captured the essence of Morocco - from the vibrant colors to the warm hospitality of the locals. We were impressed by Abdul's impeccable English, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Despite our tendency to take more time than planned, Abdul ensured we made it to our ferry on time with his quick hustle. Throughout the tour, we encountered cleanliness and kindness from everyone we met, without any high-pressure sales tactics from vendors. My wife and I felt completely safe and at ease during the entire journey. I urge you to secure a spot on this tour before it fills up; Don’t even think about it. Just book it! it's truly worth it. Thank you, Abdul, for an unforgettable experience - we look forward to returning soon!

THE KNEE SCOOTER

I must start this review by saying my husband ruptured his Achilles three weeks before our trip to Spain. We told Hamid and he said we will do our best. Mohammed, the driver lifted my husbands knee scooter in and out of the van. Mohammed the guide was so kind and generous. I cannot say enough kind things about him. When my husband couldn’t navigate a steep set of stairs he would find a chair and then Mohammed would take my daughter and I down narrow back streets, showed us many beautiful things and stayed close by in case we had any questions. The tour was amazing. But the people were the best part, they were kind, generous, accommodating and knowledgeable. Do not miss this tour!!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tangier.

How much does Excursion to Chefchaouen (The Blue City) from Tangier cost?

+

Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tangier usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Excursion to Chefchaouen (The Blue City) from Tangier take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tangier is not rushed.

Is Excursion to Chefchaouen (The Blue City) from Tangier worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tangier, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Excursion to Chefchaouen (The Blue City) from Tangier?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Excursion to Chefchaouen (The Blue City) from Tangier suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Excursion to Chefchaouen (The Blue City) from Tangier?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tangier can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tangier and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Excursion to Chefchaouen (The Blue City) from Tangier start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tangier within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Tangier?

+

On Outty we rank every Tangier experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include From Tangier: Chefchaouen Day Trip with Local Guide, From Tangier Private Full Day-Trip to Chefchaouen, 7 days Tour from Tangier to Marrakech Morocco Tours. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Tangier?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Tangier?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
