About this experience
The Anahuacalli Museum, whose name in Nahuatl means 'house on land between two seas,' is a visionary creation by Diego Rivera together with architect Juan O'Gorman. Conceived as a studio, museum, and temple for art, this one-of-a-kind space allows visitors to appreciate not only the vast collection of crafts and pre-Hispanic pieces Rivera gathered throughout his life, but also contemporary works in constant dialogue with the past. Its monumental architecture, inspired by ancient Mesoamerican constructions and built with volcanic stone, makes it a work of art in itself. Integrated into the natural environment of El Pedregal, Anahuacalli is also a City of the Arts: a living place where art is exhibited, created, and reflected upon. It is a constantly evolving museum that unites pre-Hispanic and contemporary aesthetics — past, present, and future — in a single space.

Capturing Mexican Vision & History at Anahuacalli Museum
We had an amazing tour with Val Raffier- an exceptional tour guide on all fronts - with invested knowledge on Anahuacalli Museum, the life and vision of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo…and how it all relates to understanding Mexico Culture & History. Her generosity and style was open and engaged at all times. We really can’t speak highly enough of Vale has our guide and also the professional organization of the staff at Chill n Go! I give my highest marks!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your beautiful and generous words. I’m truly touched by your review. It was an absolute pleasure sharing the Anahuacalli Museum with you. Your kindness about my style and engagement really warms my heart. Creating an open, meaningful experience is exactly what I hope for in every tour. I’m also grateful for your recognition of the Chill n Go team — we all work with dedication to make each experience special. See you tomorrow for a new adventure!

Leonor is the Best
Leonor is the best possible guide. She knows virtually everything important about Diego Rivera, Frida Kayla, Juan O’Gorman, and pre-Colombian indigenous civilizations from the Olmecs to the Aztecs. She is sensitive and highly attentive, and she sees things that others usually miss. My wife and I are lovers of history, art, and anthropology, and we heartily endorse this tour. Bravo, Leonor!!!

High Quality Tour, Layers of Great Information
Great experience exploring Anahuacalli with Roman as our tour guide. He was so informative and approachable with questions. Roman walked us through the history and background of the artifacts and relics in the museum. He also shared enlightening information about Diego Rivera as a person — beyond the artist. Highly recommend.
Response from the operator: thank you so much! it was wonderful to show you around my favorite museum of Ciudad de México!

Why this scores 63
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
EXCLUSIVE TOUR at Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum - Small Groups: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does EXCLUSIVE TOUR at Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum - Small Groups cost?
+
Prices start at $700 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does EXCLUSIVE TOUR at Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum - Small Groups take?
+
Plan for about 1.7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is EXCLUSIVE TOUR at Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum - Small Groups worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 38 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule EXCLUSIVE TOUR at Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum - Small Groups?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is EXCLUSIVE TOUR at Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum - Small Groups suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1.7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book EXCLUSIVE TOUR at Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum - Small Groups?
+
Around 13 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 1.7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does EXCLUSIVE TOUR at Diego Rivera Anahuacalli Museum - Small Groups start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
