Winemaking on this winery estate dates back to 1465 when Lorenzo de’Medici planted the original vines on the historic vineyards of the Podere Fortuna. Surrounded by scenic Tuscan hills, which unfold into a series of unique landscapes, the vineyards produce elegant wines while honoring the valley of Mugello. The region’s climate offers ideal conditions for Pinot Noir, with the contrast between day and night temperatures contributing to optimal ripening. Currently transitioning to organic production, the estate primarily cultivates Pinot Noir, along with a small acreage of Chardonnay. The vineyard follows biodynamic principles, treating the entire winemaking process as a unified entity. They protect the land by eliminating pesticides, instead using natural fertilizers such as recycled grape skins to nourish the soil. This approach not only enhances the quality of the fruit but also the wine itself.

The story of this winery is the story of the Bacci family, who moved to the "Monte" in 1985. Here Sergio, Giorgia, Enrico and Elena built their home and decided to plant a small vineyard for family use. Here, Monteprimo overlooks the vines, becoming a cherished backdrop for admiration. In 2016, Enrico and Elena, with the help of their children Silvia and Duccio, expanded their vision by planting two hectares of Pinot Noir, giving life to the Bacco del Monte company. Located in Vicchio, the birthplace of Giotto and Beato Angelico, the estate is not only steeped in artistic heritage but also benefits from the valley's unique topography and microclimate, characterized by significant temperature variations between day and night. This environment has made the cultivation of Pinot Noir increasingly important. The vineyard features a planting density of 5000 vines per hectare, trained using the Guyot system.

Informative Amazing Hands on Experience Highly Recommend
Amazing tortelloni class and tour. We learned how to weigh the flours used in the pasta making, along with the proper technique to create a proper dough. The class was fun and extremely informative. After the class, we took a start to finish tour of the facility. When the tour was finished we ate our pasta, but the best part was when we had the chance to taste all the products the Prosciutto factory offered. The staff of the facility was fun and engaging. Gary spent a lot of time with us, and made us feel so welcomed. Enotropea Tours offers first class, private options that allows for a full immersive experience. Highly recommend
Response from the operator: We really appreciate you taking the time to leave us a review. We are very happy that you enjoyed your tour with Paola. Best wishes, Enotropea Team

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.
How much does Exclusive Private Tuscan Pinot Noir, Land of Medici Family cost?

How long does Exclusive Private Tuscan Pinot Noir, Land of Medici Family take?
+

Is Exclusive Private Tuscan Pinot Noir, Land of Medici Family worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Exclusive Private Tuscan Pinot Noir, Land of Medici Family?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Exclusive Private Tuscan Pinot Noir, Land of Medici Family suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 10. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Exclusive Private Tuscan Pinot Noir, Land of Medici Family?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Exclusive Private Tuscan Pinot Noir, Land of Medici Family start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Florence?
+
On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Florence?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Florence?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
