Nakameguro has been voted "Coolest Tokyo Neighborhood" for several years and is famous for delicious eateries hidden down secret alley ways along with quaint boutiques that line the river - all of which we will explore. While we explore, you will learn the history of the area, have gorgeous photo opportunities, and try many delicious things you never knew existed! At the end of the tour, your guide will be more than happy to walk you over to a fun secret bar where you can have a final nightcap if you wish. This is a tour you do not want to miss!!!

A Night to Remember
What an unforgettable evening! Stephanie is so knowledgeable and made sure everything we had was within my wife’s dietary restrictions — while still being one of most delicious meals we’ve ever had. We started with some champagne by the cherry blossom-lined river, moved on to a fabulous sake tasting, followed by some lovely appetizers at a spot that seemed to be prized by locals, and finished up with a full dinner that could not have been more succulent. Throw in the great company and conversation, and it was just a marvelous evening, everything we had hoped for and more. Book this tour, you will NOT regret it!

Night time food tour
This was such a great tour. Stephanie is so knowledgeable about Japanese food and is wonderful at finding little hidden away gems. We walked into one spot which looked like a little bar and turned out to be a type of food court in a local neighborhood. We never would have thought to go there and it was such fun trying unique dishes in a local place. We went to a bar later in the evening where the owner distills his own gin and I had the best martini ever! So fun to converse with the bartender/owner about his unique drinks. We then went for yakatori. This was quite an event. Stephanie was able to tailor our tour to our specific tastes and is quite flexible.
Response from the operator: Was a great night! Thank you again for joining!

Definitely the Best Food tour we have taken on any of our trips!
Wow! Talk about an innovative off the beat and path food and nite tour of Tokyo... this is unique and exceptional. Stephanie Haddad made it so much fun for our group on our recent visit we can't wait to do it all again. We loved the time at the Unknown Bar where the owner spent 30 minutes with us explaining his process for infusing ingredients like wasabi into incredible drinks. And the time we spent in the Yakatori restaurant was another great experience we could only have had with Stephanie as she has a vast network of specialty food and drink contacts throughout Nakameguro. It's also fun chatting with her along the way to learn more about life of an expat in Tokyo especially from someone so knowledgeable and is a true gourmand. We have taken many food and drink tours around the world but this was by far the best and most fun!
Response from the operator: I am honored to know this was the best food tour you’ve ever had! Thank you so much!

Why this scores 72
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Exciting Evening of Eats in Tokyo: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Tokyo.
How much does Exciting Evening of Eats in Tokyo cost?
+
Prices start at $95 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Tokyo usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Exciting Evening of Eats in Tokyo take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Tokyo is not rushed.
Is Exciting Evening of Eats in Tokyo worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 72 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 10 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Tokyo, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Exciting Evening of Eats in Tokyo?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Exciting Evening of Eats in Tokyo suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Exciting Evening of Eats in Tokyo?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Tokyo can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Tokyo and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Exciting Evening of Eats in Tokyo start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Tokyo within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Tokyo?
+
Tokyo is less a city than a stack of neighborhoods with completely different opening hours. A guided food crawl through Shinjuku's Omoide Yokocho gets you past the no-tourist curtains, while the day trips west to Hakone and Fuji need an early start to be worth the fare. Our ranking weighs guide quality heavily here, because in Tokyo the guide is the product. On Outty we rank every Tokyo experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tokyo Shinjuku Chopsticks Making Class, Tokyo : Asakusa Chopsticks Making Class, Shinjuku Night Food and Bar Crawl. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Tokyo?
+
Late March to May for blossom, October to November for clear Fuji views. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Tokyo?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
