Great little day trip from Cairo
The whole experience was exceptional starting with my dealings the Mariem, the travel consultant who was very helpful in every aspect. The day started from the hotel with Mr Aref, the driver, who took me to Alexandria where I hooked up with Mrs. Wesam, the tour guide. Both very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour took me to all the sites listed, however, the library itself was closed so could only stand on the street out front. My fault I didn't check that on Fridays it closes for maintenance. However, we did go to the Citadel for some time, then had a tremendous lunch right across the street at a local establishment. Highly recommend this tour to anyone interested ... just be aware the library is closed Fridays.

Outstanding experience highly recommend!
I booked the tour last minute , Mahmoud was very friendly and make sure that everything is good before traveling to Alxandaria. Our guide Hamda was very professional and made sure we are comfortable during the trip. Finally we met our guide Wessam she is do kind , knowledgeable and friendly. We booked the tour with option the food tour. Our operator Yoma asked us if we prefer sea food or local Alxandarian food , we chose the local one and we didn't regret anymore. We tried the falafel , Shawarma and Koshary and for desert rice with milk was very testy Infront of Cournih. If you didn't visit Alxandaria with this company you definitely missed alot of fun! I definitely will come again with my mom next year.

This isn’t a food tour, extremely dissatisfied
An absolute rip off. This is not a food tour, the women that was our guide (Marwa) took us to a restaurant where we weren’t given even 1 option, they just bring us a plate that was cold, full fish (with head and all) fried calamari cold, we needed to pay for the drink we had (a juice) the lunch was rushed. She didn’t let the driver stop in one of the spots we were supposed to visit, run personal errands while we were on tour and took us to a “papirus institute” that wasn’t an institute but just a store that sold papirus many times more expensive than other places around Cairo (over $100 for a papirus you can buy for $10) After that I told her I wasn’t going to buy anything and then she rushed us the rest of the time. Sat next to us looking mad, while we eat that terrible plate of food. The price is not worth it, is not a food tour, (tour for us is something where you get options and they show you various foods from a place) you are better taking the ones that are $40 and you choose what and were do you want to eat. Was the only bad experience we had in Egypt. Do not buy this tour you will regret it.

Why this scores 66
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Exceptional Alexandria tour from Cairo + Alexandria food tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Giza.
How much does Exceptional Alexandria tour from Cairo + Alexandria food tour cost?
+
Prices start at $51 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Giza usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Exceptional Alexandria tour from Cairo + Alexandria food tour take?
+
Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Giza is not rushed.
Is Exceptional Alexandria tour from Cairo + Alexandria food tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 66 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Giza, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Exceptional Alexandria tour from Cairo + Alexandria food tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Exceptional Alexandria tour from Cairo + Alexandria food tour suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 8-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Exceptional Alexandria tour from Cairo + Alexandria food tour?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Giza can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Giza and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Exceptional Alexandria tour from Cairo + Alexandria food tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Giza within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Giza?
+
On Outty we rank every Giza experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pyramids Sphinx Camel ATV Bike Shopping and Nile Dinner Cruise, Cairo 8 Hour Private Tour of Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum, Pyramids Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Nile Felucca or Bazaar. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Giza?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Giza?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
