    Amazing experience!

Dan was our driver and tour guide. We really enjoyed our time with him! Took about an hour and half to get from the port to Etna. Once we got there Dan stayed with us and we took the cable cars to the very top on the volcano. The views were amazing! The hike is a little difficult and it cold and windy so I recommend bringing a jacket. It was definitely worth it. Then we headed to the wine tasting at the most beautiful winery. They give you plenty of food with the wine tasting. We really enjoyed our time there. Dan made sure we got back to the cruise ship in time. Highly recommend this tour.

Response from the operator: Hi Rena! We’re so happy that you enjoyed the tour and that we were able to make your day so special. We work every day to make our experiences even better. Your words mean so much to us. We hope to see you again soon here in our SICILY! Sebastiano

Fairly good, but could have been better

Overall, the tour was fairly good. Our guide seemed a little off due to what seemed to be some kind of conflict with a booking agent. However, the hike around Mount Etna was really interesting, and he shared a lot of interesting information and stories. The wine tasting didn't feel like the best value for the price - after a morning of hiking, a small plate of cheese and olives didn't really cut it in terms of the food. If I were to do it again, I would probably book separate tours for Etna and the wine tasting.

Response from the operator: Good morning, Thank you very much for sharing your feedback. We greatly value your comments and suggestions, as they are essential in helping us improve and maintain the high standards of service we strive to offer every day. Please rest assured that your observations have been reviewed with the utmost attention, and we are already taking steps to enhance the aspects that did not fully meet your expectations. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused and truly hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future, so that we may provide you with an even more refined and fulfilling experience. We do not seek to offer justifications, but please know that we are constantly working to improve our services and partnerships to ensure the highest quality for our guests. With kind regards, Etna Sicily Tours

Fun day on north side of Etna and at Winery

Dan was a great guide. Allowed us all to enjoy Etna and the winery for extended times. Hiking was for a couple of hours at a pace all 3 couples enjoyed, some a little more in front and others spread out a little. No worries for Dan or any of us. Winery small bites and wine tasting very nice and not hurried. Good balance between the 2 experiences.

Response from the operator: We thank you for your kind review and we are very pleased that you enjoyed the various moments of the day

Etna trekking and wine tasting: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Catania.

How much does Etna trekking and wine tasting cost?

    +

Prices start at $177 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Catania usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Etna trekking and wine tasting take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Catania is not rushed.

Is Etna trekking and wine tasting worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 74 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 29 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Catania, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Etna trekking and wine tasting?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Etna trekking and wine tasting suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Etna trekking and wine tasting?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Catania can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Catania and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Etna trekking and wine tasting start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Catania within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Catania?

    +

On Outty we rank every Catania experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Catania Sicilian Street Food Tour: Small Group by Do Eat Better, Etna Tour - HalfDay Small Group & licensed Tour Guide, Tour Etna and Wine Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Catania?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Catania?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Etna trekking and wine tasting?

    +

Included: Private transportation; Wine tasting in the cellar; Helmets and torches supplied by us; Lunch; and In-vehicle air conditioning. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Does Etna trekking and wine tasting include hotel pickup?

    +

Yes, pickup is offered for every traveler from 281 listed pickup locations in and around Catania. You can also enter a custom pickup address when booking.

What languages is Etna trekking and wine tasting offered in?

    +

It is offered in German, English, Italian, French and Spanish. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Etna trekking and wine tasting?

    +

Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.

Is Etna trekking and wine tasting wheelchair or stroller accessible?

    +

The operator notes: Infants and small children can ride in a pram or stroller; and Specialized infant seats are available. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.

What happens to Etna trekking and wine tasting if the weather is bad?

    +
