What makes our activity truly special is the real Moroccan hospitality we offer to our guests. Beyond cooking and the tea Ceremony, we share with them everything they should know about Morocco and Essaouira, helping them discover the best places to buy spices, gifts, and argan oil at fair local prices. We also provide recommendations for authentic Moroccan dishes that most tourists never get to try, and suggest unique activities to enrich their stay. A fantastic cooking and cultural experience

Highly recommend this experience - Isaac is an excellent host sharing his home with kindness and generosity. His insider tips as well as patience with us all, ensuring our adult teens equally enjoyed the experience was exceptional. This was the best mint tea in our 12 day trip - no more burnt mint leaves for us! In addition our tagines were some of the best we have tasted and only wish we had done this earlier in our trip to explore other tips and advice he has. Isaac is clearly passionate about ensuring everyone has a good time, whilst being professional, kind and generous. Thoroughly recommend booking - you won’t be disappointed - it is one of the best things we did during our time in Morocco and will definitely be in touch when we return to Essaouira - as so much still to explore! Thank you Isaac.

A true highlight in Essaouira - authentic, personal, unforgettable!

I booked Ishak's cooking class to introduce my niece to Moroccan cuisine during her first trip to Morocco - and it turned out to be the highlight of our week in Essaouira. We met at a small local market to buy fresh ingredients together, then cooked at Ishak and Amélie's home. The whole experience felt very authentic and personal. Ishak explained everything - from spices to cooking techniques - in a fun, engaging, and easy-to-follow way. The result? The best lamb tagine and lemon chicken tagine I've ever had! We also learned how to make real Moroccan mint tea, which was a lovely bonus. What made this experience truly special was Ishak himself. He took so much time for us, shared great tips for our stay in Essaouira, and made us feel completely welcome. It was so much more than just a cooking class. And as if that wasn't enough, we even received a very special gift at the end - something we won't spoil here, but it's without a doubt the most meaningful souvenir my niece brought home and something she will treasure for a long time. A true highlight of our trip - we can absolutely recommend it to everyone. We will certainly come back!

    Fabulous experience

We booked to cook with Chef Ishak as we wanted to learn to cook tagines like the locals. We were given a good choice of recipes and shown around the local market to buy provisions before taken to Ishak’s home. The warmth of his welcome made us feel like we were meeting with friends. We had a great time learning about the different spices and how to cook with a tagine. The meal was delicious but what we came away with was more than just a full belly. Thank you Ishak for sharing your knowledge and your kindness. Highly recommend this experience to all!

    Wonderful experience

This was such a beautiful experience, from shopping for the meat and spices (plus a bit of sampling), to peeling veg and chatting and preparing the Tagines to finally eating them - they were really tasty and we now have the tricks of the trade so will be reinventing them at home. Isaac is an absolute treasure and is interesting to talk to. Save up all your questions that you want to know about life as a Moroccan. Highly recommend this experience.... they have a very beautiful and cosy home too.

    A joyful and tasty experience

My husband and I have spent a marvellous and enriching cooking class with chef Ishak. It is an all round experience where you get the look, the feel, the smell and the taste of Morocco, starting at the market where you pick out your vegetables, olives and meat. Then you go to Ishak's home to learn from scratch how to cook the best tagines. Ishak is very friendly, accommodating and talented and shares lots of information about Morocco and the places to visit in Essaouira. Thank you, Ishak, for this beautiful experience.

Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Essaouira.

How much does Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $51 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Essaouira usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Essaouira is not rushed.

Is Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 82 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 41 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Essaouira, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 4-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience?

    +

Around 14 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Essaouira can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Essaouira and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Essaouira within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Essaouira?

    +

On Outty we rank every Essaouira experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include 3 hours ride on camel at sunset, 3-hour camel ride at sunset, Essaouira: 2-Hour Beach & Dunes Quad Tour with Tea. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Essaouira?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Essaouira?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.

What is included in Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience?

    +

Included: Bottled water; Snacks; Lunch; and Tea and coffee. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

Where is the meeting point for Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience?

    +

We meet near the Mosque Lalla Amina, on Sakia El Hamra Street. I will send you the exact location on WhatsApp before the experience to make sure that you'll not get lost. Hotel pickup is not included, so plan your own transport and arrive 15 minutes early.

What languages is Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience offered in?

    +

It is offered in Arabic, English and French. Pick your language when choosing a date and time, as not every departure runs in every language.

Will I get instant confirmation and a mobile ticket for Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience?

    +

Confirmation is sent by the operator after booking, usually within 48 hours; if it is not confirmed you are not charged. Mobile tickets are accepted, so you can show the voucher on your phone.

Is Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience wheelchair or stroller accessible?

    +

The operator notes: Infants are required to sit on an adult’s lap. If accessibility is critical, contact the operator after booking to confirm arrangements for your date.

What happens to Essaouira Moroccan Cooking Class Experience if the weather is bad?

    +

It generally runs rain or shine, so dress for the forecast in Essaouira. Standard cancellation terms apply: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start.
