Recommend skipping this tour or going with another company
Pickup was a mess. They sent me text me last night saying they’d pic me up at the riad at 8am. Then this morning they text and said we needed to wait for instructions and a new pickup location. They called at 7:54am and told us to meet this across town (36 minutes away) in 6 minutes. No one can walk that fast! I had the desk person at our riad speak to them and our person got us a taxi and had the tour driver wait. Tour ended up leaving an hour late because they were also waiting on many other people. Tour itself was OK, but we only made one stop (Argon Oil). Then we were dropped off in town and told to be back at the bus in 4 hours. All of the other items/stops on the ad were skipped. I guess you get what you pay for. At least it was super cheap.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the confusion and stress caused by the pickup arrangements. You had been informed that pickup would be from your riad at 8:00 AM, so receiving a last-minute request to reach another meeting point across town was not reasonable. We understand how frustrating this was, especially with such limited notice. Although a taxi was arranged and the driver waited, the communication should have been clearer and better organized from the beginning. We would also like to clarify an important point for future travelers: this experience is a shared day trip with transport to Essaouira, an argan cooperative visit, and independent free time in the city. It is **not a guided walking tour inside Essaouira**. After arriving, travelers have approximately four hours to discover Essaouira at their own pace. During this time, they may choose to explore the UNESCO-listed medina, the ramparts, fishing port, artisan souks, cafés, or beach, and have lunch wherever they prefer. These places are not separate guided stops led by the driver. That said, we understand that the itinerary presentation may have created a different expectation, and we are updating it to make the independent nature of the free time in Essaouira clearer before booking. We are also reviewing our pickup procedures to prevent confirmed pickup locations from being changed at the last minute, except where absolutely necessary and with sufficient advance notice. We are sorry that the start of your day did not meet the level of organization you deserved. Kind regards,

The pick up took over an 1h and was chaotic. But the drive was calm and safe. Essaouira is really stunning and worth a trip. I was disappointed the wasn't a guided tour as announced and the reason I booked this tour.

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Essaouira Coastal Day Trip from Marrakech with Medina & Argan: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Marrakech.
How much does Essaouira Coastal Day Trip from Marrakech with Medina & Argan cost?
+
Prices start at $19 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Marrakech usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Essaouira Coastal Day Trip from Marrakech with Medina & Argan take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Marrakech is not rushed.
Is Essaouira Coastal Day Trip from Marrakech with Medina & Argan worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Marrakech, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Essaouira Coastal Day Trip from Marrakech with Medina & Argan?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Essaouira Coastal Day Trip from Marrakech with Medina & Argan suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Essaouira Coastal Day Trip from Marrakech with Medina & Argan?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Marrakech can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Marrakech and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Essaouira Coastal Day Trip from Marrakech with Medina & Argan start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Marrakech within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Marrakech?
+
On Outty we rank every Marrakech experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Agafay Desert Quad Bike Camel Ride and Dinner Show, Best Marrakech to Fes Sahara Desert Tour with Camp & Camel Trek, 3 Day Marrakech to Merzouga Desert Tour Camel Rides and Overnight. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Marrakech?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Marrakech?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
