Ruby is the BEST! She is warm, knowledgeable, and so much fun! My family of 8 loved spending 3 hrs with her and wish we could have had more time! She was wonderful with my 88-year-old mother too! Highly recommend!

Ruby Roy is Terrific!
We had a family group of 9 adults and 5 minors from 8 to 15. Ruby's presentation kept everyone engaged and interested (okay, the 8-year old may not have been always paying attention). If you have a half-day to see Old Montreal, and you don't pick Ruby as your guide, you'd be making a mistake!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review. So happy you enjoyed yourself . Looking forward to seeing you again . Warm wishes Ruby

Wonderful Tour With an Amazing Guide
Ruby Roy was amazing. Both my wife and I found her to be personable, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about the history of Montreal. I booked her tour months in advance. Shortly after I book the tour, she sent an email welcoming both my wife and I to her tour, and we were able to set up a meeting place and time to start the tour. Ruby was really great about communicating all the things we needed to know so our tour would run smoothly. Once we met, she was very flexible and tailored our tour to our interests. When she found out that the internet company I booked our apartment through had made a serious mistake and we were uncertain where we would be staying for the rest of week, she quickly recommended a number of hotels that would meet our needs. This is something I greatly appreciated. She even took extra time to take us to the Jean Talon Market, something that was not on our tour agenda and thus something that she did not have to do. Once we arrived at the market, she introduced us to some of the wonderful shops and the people who work there. She also showed us how to navigate the Montreal METRO system. I could not have asked for a better guide. It is obvious that Ruby enjoys what she does and truly cares about her customers. If you are even considering a tour, I highly recommend you book with Ruby. She is the best.
Response from the operator: Thank you for this wonder and kind review. Most important for me was that you had a wonderful experience despite your accommodation challenges. Thank you for the recommendations and looking forward to seeing you again. Warm wishes Ruby

Ruby is the best!
During our two half-day tours with Ruby, she took us on a tour of Old Montreal and Montreal Downtown. We enjoyed both tours and found them to be fantastic. Ruby's knowledge of the city was evident as she showed us many interesting places that we would have never found on our own. Additionally, she made sure to take us to the top attractions, including the Basilica, providing a well-rounded tour experience. Ruby also provided an overview of the various communities in Montreal, giving us a glimpse into the city's diverse cultural fabric. She adjusted the pace of the tours to our liking, allowing us to enjoy the city in a relaxed manner. In addition to the tours, Ruby also gave us great recommendations for restaurants and hotels. It's clear that Ruby went above and beyond to ensure that we had a memorable visit to Montreal. Based on our experience, we would wholeheartedly recommend Ruby as the best private tour guide in Montreal. Her in-depth knowledge of the city, ability to adjust to her guests' preferences, and willingness to share recommendations make her an outstanding tour guide.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind words review and recommendations. Looking forward to seeing you again soon. Ruby

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Montreal.
How much does Enchanting Old Montreal , A private walking tour with Ruby Roy cost?

How far in advance should I book Enchanting Old Montreal , A private walking tour with Ruby Roy?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Montreal can sell out a month out. What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Montreal and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Montreal?
+
On Outty we rank every Montreal experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Essential 101 Non-Touristy Walking Tour by Spade & Palacio, Old Montreal Walking Tour | Small Group (Max 10) | by MTL Detours, The Full-Day small-group comprehensive tour of Montreal. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Montreal?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Montreal?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
