  2. Along the way, you will ride cross country through some woods to reach the Nine Arches Bridge. This incredible historical viaduct built entirely from stone, bricks, and cement (with no steel) was created in the British era of Sri Lanka. It spans a space of over 300 feet and has a height of approximately 100 feet. You will be an able walk along the railroad passing over the bridge, and listen to your hiking guide explain the history and stories about Nine Arches. You can also get some excellent photographs and create some memories. You will then continue on to Little Adam's Peak. This area ends in a sharp drop that provides you with stupendous views of the landscape around you; including the amazing view from the Ella Gap, and the Knuckles Range. Nice bike ride, nice guide

Nice bike tour with very nice Sam to the Nine Arch Bridge. Along the way you will find information about tea and all kinds of wild growing fruits and peppers. At the end of the tour back with an old train. For tall people, the bikes are on the small side.

Recommend with guide Sana!

The guide for this experience really made the adventure worthwhile! He was knowledgeable and very excited to share all the things he loves. Views were great and Sana went out of his way to help with photos. Only one word of caution is the traffic on very narrow roadways coming to and from the bridge can be a little tricky if you are not a confident cyclist. Also should have a decent level of fitness as there are some hills. I enjoyed it all and would recommend it!

Small tour to 9 Arch Bridge, nothing more

We had booked a 4-hour mountain bike tour. Pick-up from the hotel by TukTuk worked great and we drove about 10 minutes to the starting point of the tour. The mountain bike has 5 gears, so far so good. We are then the same way we rode the TukTuk, back by bike and a bit further to the 9 Arch bridge. There we waited for the train, then waited again until the train left and then we just rolled to a station and the tour was over. Pure mountain bike ride time: 1.5 hours. The rest was waiting. And for that per person 50 euros is far too expensive. 15 to 20 euros would have been appropriate and actually that is still too much. The guide was very nice and tried but he had no idea what to do with us or where to go with us. So this is not a MountainBikeTour but just a ride to the 9 Arch bridge. Of course, I know that often imagination and reality don’t go together, but a tour off the main road through tea plantations around the countryside wasn’t.

Fab cycle through and around Ella!

We had a great time on our cycle trip, our guide, Sana, was so kind and knowledgeable about filling us in on the areas we were traveling through. I would recommend, just keep in mind there are some steep hills to cycle up!

Ella Cycling Experience in Ella: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Ella.

How much does Ella Cycling Experience in Ella cost?

+

Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Ella usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Ella Cycling Experience in Ella take?

+

Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Ella is not rushed.

Is Ella Cycling Experience in Ella worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Ella, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Ella Cycling Experience in Ella?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Ella Cycling Experience in Ella suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 3-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Ella Cycling Experience in Ella?

+

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Ella can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Ella and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Ella Cycling Experience in Ella start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Ella within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Ella?

+

On Outty we rank every Ella experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Halpewatte Tea Factory Tour in Ella Sri Lanka, Halpewatte Tea Plantation Tour in Ella, Sri Lanka, Discover Ella - Ella Rock, Little Adam's Peak & Nine Arch Bridge. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Ella?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Ella?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
