About this experience
This tour will take us to the South of Siena to the famous area of Brunello di Montalcino. We'll start our journey as always in Siena and follow the windy roads of the Crete Senesi - the famous rolling hills of Southern Siena. Our first stop will be in one of our favorite wineries in Montalcino where we will be shown the vineyards, cellars and enjoy the tasting together with the owner of the winery. This is a unique experience to enjoy a Montalcino winery from the inside in very intimate surroundings. We'll head for lunch in another renowned winery to have a typical Tuscan lunch prepared with local ingredients by knowledgeable locals. Sit back and enjoy the delicious feast while we pour the wines and tell the stories of Montalcino. The trip continues up the hill to Montalcino where we will stop to have a stroll around the village. We'll sample honey from Montalcino in a local farmer's store - the honey of sunflowers, chestnut, lavender, and more...

Excellent trip to Montalcino with Luca
We had an excellent day visiting Montalcino with the brilliant Luca. He is an excellent guide with immense knowledge and expertise, as well as being friendly and entertaining. The highlight of the trip was the first stop at il Cocco, a wine producer with superb wine and a great story. The trips to different wineries was well curated, offering different experiences - and the views over lunch were spectacular! Highly recommend
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for the wonderful review! We’re delighted you enjoyed your day in Montalcino. We’ll be sure to pass your lovely words on to Luca. 🍷 All the best from Tuscany, Rebecca & the Grape Tours team

Highlight of our trip!
Our Brunello tour with Grape Tours was the thing I was looking forward to the most when planning our trip to beautiful Tuscany, and it did not disappoint!! Our guide Alesso was informative, hilarious, and so endearing, he made the day SO much fun!! And the wine - the wine was incredible. Our three wineries were very different from one another which made the day perfectly balanced. It was so lovely to spend time with the winemakers. There is so much love and pride and attention that goes into making each bottle. The Tuscan views were otherworldly and the lunch was possibly the best meal of our 10 days in Italy! it felt very personal. Not at all touristy. It was really an authentic day and truly the highlight of our Italian adventure.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re delighted to hear that the Brunello tour was the highlight of your trip. Alessio will be thrilled to know he made such a memorable impression, and we're so glad you enjoyed the wineries, the incredible wines, the stunning scenery, and that unforgettable lunch. Thank you for spending the day with us—we hope to welcome you back to Tuscany for another Grape day soon! 🍷😊

Fantastic wines & places & super fun guide
That’s a 2nd tour (Brunello di Montalcino) with Grapes Tour & 2nd with Matteo. The 1st one was Super Chianti (with Dario Cecchini’s restaurant) on 31st December 25 :) Both were fantastic with very good choice of wineries & places to see, wonderful landscapes, fine wine & associated parings & super fun and friendly guide Matteo (« chapeau » as the French say). 30 min in Montalcino were a bit short but doable - I’ve been there before few times & know the place. Will check for another tour the next time in Florence. Many thanks !
Response from the operator: Thank you once again Constantin, it's very kind of you!!

Lifetime memories on a trip to Montalcino
We joined a Saturday tour in April 18 to Montalcino and all I can say is that it was the experience of a lifetime! From the moment Pierre offered a place to sit at the meeting point ( we were quite early) to the drop off it was top notch! And Alessio…let me say I’ve never had such an accommodating host - he is so deliberate and thoughtful in attending to every detail of the experience…From insightful commentary to just getting to know each guest, he is a treasure. We can’t wait to book our next trip around a Grape Tours excursion!

Why this scores 53
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Elite Brunello di Montalcino wine tour w/3 wineries & lunch: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Florence.
How much does Elite Brunello di Montalcino wine tour w/3 wineries & lunch cost?
+
Prices start at $400 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Florence usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Elite Brunello di Montalcino wine tour w/3 wineries & lunch take?
+
Plan for about 9 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Florence is not rushed.
Is Elite Brunello di Montalcino wine tour w/3 wineries & lunch worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 53 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Florence, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Elite Brunello di Montalcino wine tour w/3 wineries & lunch?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Elite Brunello di Montalcino wine tour w/3 wineries & lunch suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 9-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Elite Brunello di Montalcino wine tour w/3 wineries & lunch?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Florence can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Florence and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Elite Brunello di Montalcino wine tour w/3 wineries & lunch start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Florence within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Florence?
+
On Outty we rank every Florence experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Best tour in Florence: Renaissance & Medici Tales - guided by a STORYTELLER, Florence Pizza or Pasta Class & Gelato Making at a Tuscan Farm, Small group Tuscan Wineries, Olive Oil & Gourmet Lunch or Dinner. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Florence?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Florence?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
