Fantastic full day at elephant freedom with 3 year old
Fantastic elephant experience at elephant freedom project from Chiang Mai. We did the full day with our 3 year old rambunctious toddler and it couldn’t have been better. Easy pick up at the hotel in the old city, about an hour drive to the sanctuary. Super close and warm experience with the elephants throughout the day, feeding them, hiking with them and even swimming with them. The professionals were incredibly kind and patient with our daughter all day. The elephants (we met 7 of them) are clearly super well taken care of and in good shape. It’s an amazing day and one of the highlights of all of our travels, ever. Great people throughout.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful 5-star review and for visiting the Elephant Freedom Project with your family. We are truly honored to hear that your full-day experience was one of the highlights of all your travels. It means so much to us that your 3-year-old daughter enjoyed the day and felt comfortable throughout the experience. Our team works hard to create a warm, family-friendly environment where guests of all ages can safely connect with the elephants in a natural and respectful setting. We’re happy you enjoyed feeding the elephants, hiking alongside them through the jungle, and watching them swim in the river. Creating ethical and meaningful experiences at our elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai is at the heart of everything we do, and your kind words about the care of our elephants truly mean a lot to our entire team and mahouts. Thank you again for spending the day with us and for taking the time to share such thoughtful feedback. We hope to welcome you and your family back to Thailand again in the future for another unforgettable adventure. 🙏🐘

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chiang Mai.
How much does Elephant Sanctuary Chiang Mai, River Rafting, Zipline & Waterfall cost?

How long does Elephant Sanctuary Chiang Mai, River Rafting, Zipline & Waterfall take?
+

Is Elephant Sanctuary Chiang Mai, River Rafting, Zipline & Waterfall worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 49 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chiang Mai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Elephant Sanctuary Chiang Mai, River Rafting, Zipline & Waterfall?
+

Is Elephant Sanctuary Chiang Mai, River Rafting, Zipline & Waterfall suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 9-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Elephant Sanctuary Chiang Mai, River Rafting, Zipline & Waterfall?
+
Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chiang Mai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chiang Mai and add a light layer if any part of the 9-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Elephant Sanctuary Chiang Mai, River Rafting, Zipline & Waterfall start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chiang Mai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chiang Mai?
+
On Outty we rank every Chiang Mai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Thai Cooking Class at Organic Farm in Chiang Mai, Full Day Thai Cooking at Farm (Chiang Mai), Thai and Akha Cooking Class in Chiang Mai. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chiang Mai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chiang Mai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
