Great private tour!
We enjoyed our private tour with Iro. They worked to accommodate us to make sure we were back on cruise ship in time due to last minute change in Viking itinerary. We had the beach to ourselves, enjoyed the beautiful monastery & lastly they took us to an Olive Oil Mill. At the Mill, one of the owners took us around showing how things work & we had opportunity to buy the top quality olive oil at the end.

We had a wonderful day...
We had a wonderful day visiting the beach. Because it was just the two of us, our guide was able to accommodate our preferences and schedule. This became essential as it became too windy to stay long at the beach. The only recommendation I have is to have the tour include rental of beach lounges and umbrellas for each guest, rather than the portable ones brought by the driver. The cost of a private car is already high, including the beach rentals should not be a problem.
Response from the operator: Response from Moysidis Travel: Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience and for your kind words about our guide and the flexibility of the tour. We are very happy you had a wonderful day at Elafonisi despite the windy weather. Regarding your suggestion about including beach lounge and umbrella rentals – we completely understand how this could make the experience even more comfortable. Unfortunately, advance reservations for sunbeds and umbrellas at Elafonisi are not possible, as the number of available sets is very limited compared to the daily number of visitors, especially in high season. For this reason, we bring portable equipment to ensure our guests can still enjoy the beach even when the official rentals are sold out. Your feedback is very valuable, and we will continue to improve our services to make them as convenient and enjoyable as possible.

Pink sand beach ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
George ( our driver) and Christina arrived promptly at our port, so we could start our day nice and early. The vehicle was extremely comfortable for our family of 5, plenty of room and air con, which was a definite must for such a hot day. Christina was very knowledgeable and we learnt lots on the journey. The journey took about an hour and a half. We were offered stops on the way but declined as we were keen to get to the beach early. We were dropped off close by and had the opportunity to visit a shop/ cafe if we wanted. George offered us towels, beach mats and sun umbrellas to take with us if we wanted. He then left us there with our guide Christina leading us to the beach, she gave us plenty of top tips about the beach, the cabanas etc we managed to get the last cabana available which was 30 Euros for the day, so in the end we didn’t need the beach mats and umbrella’s George gave us- but considering we got to the beach way before 10, I would say always take them because there are very few available on the beach. If we did it again , we wouldn’t have got the Cabana and just used what George gave us because Christina had such good knowledge of the beach and took us away from the crowds to were the pink sand was much more vivid , and there were very few people in that area- thats were her local knowledge was paramount. Christina left us and arranged to meet us back at our Cabana at a specific time. The beach was beautiful, nothing like i’d ever seen before but it gets sooo busy- the area Christina showed us was much more secluded and peaceful and definitely had a lot more pink sand. We met George where he dropped us off, we had time to grab a drink and snacks and on the journey back, visited a pretty monastery and the cave of Sofia. We were offered complimentary bottled water throughout the journey and nothing was too much trouble. We were also offered to stop at a bee hive/ honey stop but declined - 5 stars from us, would highly recommend- The trip was around 8 hours but it would have been longer had we stopped at all of the offered stops- we were just nervous about getting back to the ship on time- in the end we had hours to spare!! Tip- the beach has lots of wifi issues to pay for items, so cash is best.

Amazing day! Outstanding...
Amazing day! Outstanding tour guide Christina who gave us an excellent review of Crete history and local cultural information. Our driver was also very fun and generous in sharing information on local food, culture and traditions. We enjoyed all 3 stops at the cave, spectacular beach and monastery. We stopped on the way back a a fun seaside cafe for drinks and dessert. Very fun day!

Elafonisi Beach - Private Tour to Pink Sands from Chania: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Chania.
How much does Elafonisi Beach - Private Tour to Pink Sands from Chania cost?
+
Prices start at $580 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Chania usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Elafonisi Beach - Private Tour to Pink Sands from Chania take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Chania is not rushed.
Is Elafonisi Beach - Private Tour to Pink Sands from Chania worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 19 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Chania, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Elafonisi Beach - Private Tour to Pink Sands from Chania?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Elafonisi Beach - Private Tour to Pink Sands from Chania suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 6-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Elafonisi Beach - Private Tour to Pink Sands from Chania?
+
Around 7 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Chania can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Chania and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Elafonisi Beach - Private Tour to Pink Sands from Chania start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Chania within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Chania?
+
On Outty we rank every Chania experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Half-Day Rethymno Quad Safari, Elafonisi & Falasarna Small Group Tour from Chania w/snacks, Balos & Falassarna Beach - Jeep Tour with Loungers and Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Chania?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Chania?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
