Visit a picturesque mountainous village nestled in a dormant volcano. Explore the local flora and fauna known as the Land of Eternal Spring. The temperatures are refreshing since the city is located at an altitude of 600m. Hike through the rainforest to a hidden natural pool for a nice cool swim. Home to an impressive set of waterfalls and natural pools. The valley is unique because of the strange square trees, which have grown on the volcanic soil. The rectangular shape of the trees is directly related to the conditions in the valley - when planted in another location, the trees would have normal circular trunks.

Hikes in El valle de Anton
I have done several hikes in El valle de Anton. On these places you pay a small contribution after which you can go out. Some are quite heavy due to the heat and high humidity but the views and nature make it all worth it

Beautiful
Hiking was fun and beautiful. It was cooler in Valle de Anton than on the coast, so we had more energy for some great hikes.

Beautiful escape from the city!
Stephanie and Stephan are ex-pat Canadians who fell in love with Panama and have made it their home. They run a very informative tour! The van picked us up promptly at hotel with coolers of snacks and various drinks for the 2 hour drive to El Valle de Anton. First stop was the park where entry and walking stick was included. Beautiful hike down under a large waterfall to a pool at the bottom with changing and seating areas where we could snack and swim. Next, a real Panamanian lunch a la carte. Then to the market across the street where Stephanie pointed out native handicrafts; very reasonable prices and i wish we had bought more! Also wish I had taken picture with the Kuna woman who sold embroidered fabrics called "mola." Next stop was to see Golden Frogs, mascot of Panama, and the forest of Square trees. Only saw 1-2 of the trees but still a nice hike along a creek up into the wall of the volcano. This was a wonderful, informative tour of the part of Panama away from the city, beaches, and canal.

El Valle de Anton - Hiking and Swimming: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Panama City.
How much does El Valle de Anton - Hiking and Swimming cost?
+
Prices start at $173 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Panama City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does El Valle de Anton - Hiking and Swimming take?
+
Plan for about 8.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Panama City is not rushed.
Is El Valle de Anton - Hiking and Swimming worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 58 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Panama City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule El Valle de Anton - Hiking and Swimming?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is El Valle de Anton - Hiking and Swimming suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book El Valle de Anton - Hiking and Swimming?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Panama City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Panama City and add a light layer if any part of the 8.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does El Valle de Anton - Hiking and Swimming start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Panama City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Panama City?
+
On Outty we rank every Panama City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Tour to a waterfall and Embera village with lunch included, Ocean to Ocean Combo: Canal Boat Safari, Agua Clara & Gatun Locks, Half day of Panama city and canal tour: shared and private. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Panama City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Panama City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
