This archaeological gem boasts some of Egypt’s most remarkable Middle Kingdom rock-cut tombs, carved into the cliffs over 4,000 years ago for regional governors and noblemen. Inside, marvel at vibrant wall paintings depicting hunting, wrestling, chariot processions, and farming scenes. Highlights include Khnumhotep II’s detailed hunting frescoes and Amenemhat’s intricate hieroglyphs. 2. Tell el-Amarna

After enjoying your visit to Beni Hassan, you will drive for about one hour to reach Tell el-Amarna, the revolutionary capital of Pharaoh Akhenaten where history took a dramatic turn in the 14th century BC. Founded for the worship of the sun disk Aten, this short-lived city offers a rare glimpse into one of Egypt’s most fascinating periods. Explore the Great Temple of the Aten, the remains of the Royal Palace, and the tombs of Akhenaten’s officials carved into the eastern cliffs. Your Egyptologist will bring to life the radical religious changes introduced by Akhenaten and his queen, Nefertiti, whose legacy still captivates the world. As you wander the scattered ruins, picture bustling streets, ceremonial avenues, and sunlit courtyards that once defined this extraordinary city — a must-visit for those seeking to understand Egypt’s most visionary and controversial pharaoh.

  3. Tuna el-Gebel

Finally, you will continue to Tuna el-Gebel, the vast necropolis of the ancient city of Hermopolis. This fascinating site served as a burial ground from the Late Period through the Greco-Roman era, famed for its catacombs dedicated to the sacred ibis and baboon — animals associated with the god Thoth. Explore the beautifully preserved tomb of Petosiris, blending traditional Egyptian art with Greek influence, and the Roman-era catacombs that stretch deep underground. Your Egyptologist will reveal the religious significance of the site, its role in ancient pilgrimage, and the stories of those buried here. The mix of Egyptian and Hellenistic styles, combined with its desert setting, makes Tuna el-Gebel an atmospheric conclusion to your El Minya journey, offering insight into the cultural fusion that shaped Egypt in its later periods. Then drive back the same distance to your Cairo or Giza hotel early.

An Unforgettable, Seamless Day in Egypt – Phenomenal Care for All Age

Yesterday, my husband (who is 85 with some mobility issues), myself, and a younger couple spent an unforgettable 11-hour day with Egyptian Paradise Tours. If you are older or traveling with mobility concerns, I cannot stress enough how much this tour is worth every single penny and then some. From our 6:30 AM pickup to our 5:30 PM drop-off, we felt entirely safe, valued, and never rushed. Because we moved a bit slowly, they completely threw out the clock—allowing us to take our time at every single site without a shred of pressure. They kept us constantly hydrated with cold water, surprised us with treats, and anticipated our every need. Our guide spoke perfect English, and their historical knowledge was so detailed and storytelling so vivid that it truly allowed us to see Egypt through their eyes. We traveled in a beautiful, wonderfully air-conditioned car with an excellent driver. Beyond the jaw-dropping sights of the pyramids—culminating in a phenomenal final stop at the Pyramids of Giza—what made this tour spectacular was the rich cultural immersion. They took us to a fascinating silk rug school and an ancient papyrus paper workshop where we learned about the traditional crafts and stories. We also stopped at a fine jewelry shop. At every single cultural stop, there was absolutely zero pressure to buy anything; it was genuinely about learning and enjoying the culture. To top it all off, they treated us to a fabulous local restaurant for lunch. The food was absolutely delicious, and all four of us ate like royalty for around $45 USD total, with plenty of food left over. Egyptian Paradise Tours provided a deeply special day that our family will never forget. Their kindness and hospitality are unmatched. Highest recommendation!

It was an absolute pleasure welcoming you and your family on our Private Saqqara, Dahshur & Giza Pyramids Tour from Cairo. Creating accessible and stress-free experiences for travelers of all ages is one of our highest priorities. It is wonderful that you enjoyed exploring the ancient wonders of Saqqara, the Step Pyramid of Djoser, Dahshur’s Bent and Red Pyramids, and the iconic Giza Pyramids and Great Sphinx. We are also pleased that the cultural experiences, including the papyrus workshop, traditional carpet school, local craftsmanship, and authentic Egyptian lunch, added another dimension to your journey through Egypt. Your kind words about our guide’s storytelling, historical knowledge, hospitality, and attention to detail mean the world to our team. We strive to provide memorable private Egypt tours, combining ancient history, authentic culture, and personalized service. Thank you again for choosing Egypt Paradise Tours. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back for more unforgettable adventures throughout Egypt.

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Giza.

How much does El Minya Day Tour from Cairo by Private Car with Egyptologist cost?

+

Prices start at $176 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Giza usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does El Minya Day Tour from Cairo by Private Car with Egyptologist take?

+

Plan for about 11.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Giza is not rushed.

Is El Minya Day Tour from Cairo by Private Car with Egyptologist worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 1 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Giza, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule El Minya Day Tour from Cairo by Private Car with Egyptologist?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is El Minya Day Tour from Cairo by Private Car with Egyptologist suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book El Minya Day Tour from Cairo by Private Car with Egyptologist?

+

Around 0 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Giza can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Giza and add a light layer if any part of the 11.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does El Minya Day Tour from Cairo by Private Car with Egyptologist start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Giza within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Giza?

+

On Outty we rank every Giza experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pyramids Sphinx Camel ATV Bike Shopping and Nile Dinner Cruise, Cairo 8 Hour Private Tour of Pyramids & Grand Egyptian Museum, Pyramids Sphinx and Grand Egyptian Museum Nile Felucca or Bazaar. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Giza?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Giza?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
