The Perfect Day
This was an amazing day trip, the bus picked us up on time and our tour guide Alejandro was the most knowledgeable and quite frankly the funniest tour guide I think I ever had. He spoke perfect English although we're semi fluent and we could understand a lot of the Spanish as well, he was engaging the whole time and taught us Argentinian history. The tour guide really does make the trip! From walking us to the waterfall to climbing the trail for an awesome view of the city and surrounding mountains he was always helpful. The whole day went smoothly and with the weather holding out( called for rain and snow) it was actually one of the best days in my life. The pic is with Alejandro!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for such a heartwarming review! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that this was one of the best days of your life—it truly doesn’t get any better than that for us. We will definitely share your kind words with Alejandro; he will be so happy to know his humor and passion for Argentinian history made such an impact on your trip. We agree, a great guide makes all the difference! We’re also so glad the weather held out so you could enjoy those breathtaking views of the mountains and the waterfall. It was a true pleasure having you with us. We hope to welcome you back to Argentina someday for more adventures. Safe travels!"

El Chalten, don't miss it
A little bcold getting on the bus, takes awhile to warm it up. Seen wildlife on the way, gaucho herding cattle. The treks were decent , n ut the mountain peaks weren't being friendly, didn't open up, looked like if you were up there it would of been rough
Response from the operator: "Thank you for sharing your experience with us! We are glad you enjoyed the wildlife and that special local sight of the gauchos herding cattle—it's truly a glimpse into the authentic Patagonian lifestyle. We appreciate your feedback regarding the temperature on the bus. In the early morning hours, it can take a little time for the heating to fully circulate throughout the cabin, and we thank you for your patience while it warmed up. Regarding the mountains, you're absolutely right; when the peaks are covered, it's usually a sign of wilder weather up high! Even when they are 'shy,' the atmosphere of the park remains powerful and unique. We are happy the treks were to your liking and we hope to welcome you back on a clear, sunny day in the future!"

Perfect day
Incredible views, our tour guide has a great story teller as well. The hikes were easy and logistics flawless. My jacket flew away and another guide found it and took it to the visitors center. Saved the rest of my trip💖
Response from the operator: "Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the 'flawless' logistics and that our guide’s storytelling made the landscapes come even more alive for you. We hope to see you again!

Nice El Chalten
It was a long drive to El Chalten, with a brief rest stop at Hotel La Leona which is part of Route 40. On arrival at El Chalten, we were informed that effective that day March 3, visitors would have to pay 3018 pesos as city tax. The method of collection was not organized, we were directed here and there where to go just to do the payment. I gave a 10000 peso bill as payment for a total tax of 6036 pesos for 2 pax and I expected and trusted the cashier to give the correct change of 3964. However, when we returned to the bus, I counted the change I got and realized it was only 3090. Not nice at all. Anyway, the rest of the day was fine...the waterfall at Chorrillos del Salto was nice, lunch at Rancho Grande was good, entrance ticket to the park is now 50% off because of the previous day's visit to Perito Moreno glacier, the trek to Miradores de las Condores was a bit challenging for us seniors but still doable. Unfortunately, the cloud cover was a kill joy and blocked what would have been a stunning view of the glacier peaks. We finished around 4:00 pm and we were back in El Calafate safe and sound at 6:30 pm.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for taking the time to share such a detailed review of your trip. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed the visit to Chorrillo del Salto, the lunch at Rancho Grande, and that you were able to complete the trek to Miradores de los Cóndores. It is great that you could take advantage of the National Park discount! We are sincerely sorry to hear about the frustrating experience you had with the municipal tax collection. Please note that this fee is managed directly by the local authorities of El Chaltén and is independent of our tour service. However, we take your feedback seriously and will share your comments with the relevant department to help improve the information We appreciate your visit and hope to welcome you back to Patagonia in the future!

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for El Calafate.
How much does El Chalten Complete Experience Full Day Tour from El Calafate cost?
+
Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in El Calafate usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does El Chalten Complete Experience Full Day Tour from El Calafate take?
+
Plan for about 12 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in El Calafate is not rushed.
Is El Chalten Complete Experience Full Day Tour from El Calafate worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 79 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 241 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in El Calafate, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule El Chalten Complete Experience Full Day Tour from El Calafate?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is El Chalten Complete Experience Full Day Tour from El Calafate suitable for kids and families?
+

How far in advance should I book El Chalten Complete Experience Full Day Tour from El Calafate?
+
Around 84 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in El Calafate can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in El Calafate and add a light layer if any part of the 12-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does El Chalten Complete Experience Full Day Tour from El Calafate start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central El Calafate within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in El Calafate?
+
On Outty we rank every El Calafate experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kayak Full-Day Activity in La Leona River from El Calafate, Perito Moreno Glacier with Navigation from El Calafate, Perito Moreno Glacier Full Day Tour with Optional Boat Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit El Calafate?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in El Calafate?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
