Nice ride
Just me and the guide which was nice Nice guy Nice views probably should have done the 2 hr ride but time didn’t allow for me.

Gaucho experience
The Gauchos provide an amazing experience, as not only did they make us feel safe but they provided great recommendations. The only down side was that the girl photographer didn’t take great photos as they were blurry or had the sun glare, but we took our own photos so it turned out fine.
Response from the operator: Thank you very much for your feedback! We’re really glad to hear you enjoyed the experience and felt safe with our team — that’s very important to us. We also appreciate your comment regarding the photos. We will review this internally to keep improving that aspect of the service. Thanks again for choosing us, and we hope to welcome you back in Patagonia!

Loved horseback riding!
I did the shorter experience with my sister and we had a blast! The team is super friendly and knowledgeable. We started out with some rain which was no problem - the sun came out for us and we saw beautiful views! They also have a restaurant and small museum space that celebrates Calafate culture. We loved it! Would recommend to all. We had little to no riding experience and were comfortable (24 and 26 YO).
Response from the operator: ¡Muchas gracias por tu comentario! Saludos cordiales, Equipo Calafate Travel

This was more of a...
This was more of a 'horseback ride experience' than actual horseback riding. I just walked at a slow pace for the entire hour and a half. It was quite boring for experienced riders. I left a note in my reservation stating that I'm an experienced rider looking to canter, but this was not taken into account at all. They should clearly state that this place is strictly for walking only.
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that the experience did not meet your expectations. This activity is designed as a scenic and safe horseback ride suitable for riders of different experience levels, so the pace is adapted to the group and terrain conditions. For safety reasons, cantering or galloping is not included. We appreciate your suggestion and will reinforce this information in the tour description.

A fantastic experience. I highly recommend the 3 hour ride, as this option gives you time to ride across the hills & down to the beach. Guille is a knowledgeable and kind guide. The ride exceeded my expectations.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Melissa! We’re delighted to hear that the experience exceeded your expectations and that you enjoyed the full 3-hour ride across the hills and down to the beach. Guille will be very happy to know you appreciated his guidance and kindness. Thank you for choosing us and for recommending the tour!

El Calafate Horseback Riding with Lake Argentino Views: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for El Calafate.
How much does El Calafate Horseback Riding with Lake Argentino Views cost?
+
Prices start at $90 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in El Calafate usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does El Calafate Horseback Riding with Lake Argentino Views take?
+
Plan for about 1 hour from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in El Calafate is not rushed.
Is El Calafate Horseback Riding with Lake Argentino Views worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.3/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in El Calafate, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule El Calafate Horseback Riding with Lake Argentino Views?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is El Calafate Horseback Riding with Lake Argentino Views suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 1-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book El Calafate Horseback Riding with Lake Argentino Views?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in El Calafate can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in El Calafate and add a light layer if any part of the 1-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does El Calafate Horseback Riding with Lake Argentino Views start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central El Calafate within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in El Calafate?
+
On Outty we rank every El Calafate experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Kayak Full-Day Activity in La Leona River from El Calafate, Perito Moreno Glacier with Navigation from El Calafate, Perito Moreno Glacier Full Day Tour with Optional Boat Safari. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit El Calafate?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in El Calafate?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in El Calafate Horseback Riding with Lake Argentino Views?
+
Included: Horse and riding equipment; Safety briefing before the ride; Guided Horseback Riding Experience; and Local Patagonian horseman. Not included: Hotel pickup and drop-off; Food and drinks; and Free (optional). Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.
