Isle of Skye, two day tour
We loved our two day tour of Skye. While we couldn't see everything we wanted to, the weather was horrendous- we basicly spent the two days in a ground level cloud, we got a great overview of the isle, and our guide fit in specific sites that interested us, We never would have made it to many of these places without our guide under the circumstances. This was our fourth Hopscotch tour and if we return, I'm sure we'll use them again! Our guide was thoughtful to make reservations for us for lunch and dinner and got us to the locations we wanted to see despite the August crowds and the inclement weather.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for taking the time to share this — and for coming back to us for a fourth Hopscotch tour! That really means a lot. We're so glad your guide was able to work around the weather and still get you to the places that mattered most to you. Skye's weather can be relentless, but it sounds like your guide made the most of it and gave you a great overview of the isle regardless. We'd love to have you back again — thank you for your continued trust in us!

A perfect start to our first time in Scotland!
This tour was so amazing and gave us such a special start to our time in Scotland! From the start, Hamish was so helpful in making the plan and adapting it to include a train ride for us! He is such a great representative of the friendliness and helpfulness of the company and the country! Catty, our guide, shared her enthusiasm and her incredible depth of knowledge in a relaxed way making our trip perfect! We learned so much and had such a wonderful time. We can’t recommend this company for touring Scotland enough!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your lovely review. We are so happy to hear you had such a great time on your tour and we hope to see you again soon.

Best trip ever!!!
Michael was an enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and passionate tour guide. We had the most amazing time on our three day private tour. Since it was just a small family trip, it was stress free as we got to spend more time in places we loved, and ditched the less interesting ones (of which there were few to none). Despite the one day of crummy weather during our drive around the Isle of Skye, Michael helped us make the best of it, and it was still a blast and beyond breathtaking! The other days we were lucky enough to have perfect weather and had another incredible day seeing one of the world’s most beautiful places, Glencoe!!! I only have great things to say about our trip with hopscotch travel :)
Response from the operator: Thank you for your kind review. We really appreciate it and we're delighted to read you had a wonderful tour - despite some bad weather!

Unforgettable 5-Star Journey Through Skye!
My partner and I booked this private 3-day tour to the Isle of Skye as part of a romantic trip through Scotland — and it turned out to be the absolute highlight of our holiday. From the moment our guide picked us up in Edinburgh in the sleek, luxury Mercedes minivan, we knew we were in for something special. The vehicle was pristine, quiet, and incredibly comfortable — perfect for long scenic drives, with huge windows that let us soak in every view (and snap more than a few photos!). What really made the trip exceptional was our guide, Stewart. He had the perfect balance of professionalism, warmth, and deep knowledge of Scottish history and folklore. He made the landscapes come alive with stories — from tragic Highland battles in Glencoe to the myths behind the Fairy Pools and the Old Man of Storr. We loved how flexible and personal the experience was. Whether we wanted to stop for a quick coffee, take extra photos, or spend more time at a scenic spot, it was never a problem. One of our favorite moments was a spontaneous stop at a peaceful loch where we shared a quiet moment completely alone with nature. It felt like a scene from a movie. Skye itself is breathtaking — even more than we imagined. Our second day on the island felt like a dream: Portree was charming, the views from the Quiraing were otherworldly, and the Fairy Glen was straight out of a fantasy novel. The weather even cooperated just enough to give us moody skies and golden light — perfect for cozy walks and dramatic photos. Our guide recommended a lovely seafood restaurant in Portree where we had one of the best meals of our trip, complete with fresh langoustines and local whisky. It was clear he tailored each stop with care and thoughtfulness. The pace of the tour was ideal for us — adventurous, but never rushed. We came away feeling deeply connected to the places we visited, and more than a little in love with the Highlands. If you’re a couple looking for a mix of luxury, nature, history, and a bit of magic — don’t hesitate to book this tour. It was everything we hoped for and more.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking time to leave us such a kind review. We hope to welcome you back again soon!

How long does Edinburgh or Glasgow: Isle of Skye 3-Day Privately Guided Tour take?

Is Edinburgh or Glasgow: Isle of Skye 3-Day Privately Guided Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Edinburgh, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Edinburgh or Glasgow: Isle of Skye 3-Day Privately Guided Tour?
+

Is Edinburgh or Glasgow: Isle of Skye 3-Day Privately Guided Tour suitable for kids and families?

How far in advance should I book Edinburgh or Glasgow: Isle of Skye 3-Day Privately Guided Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Edinburgh can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Edinburgh and add a light layer if any part of the 72-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Edinburgh or Glasgow: Isle of Skye 3-Day Privately Guided Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Edinburgh within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Edinburgh?
+
On Outty we rank every Edinburgh experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include The Chocolatarium Chocolate Tour Experience in Edinburgh, The Mountebank Comedy Walk of Edinburgh, Edinburgh Old Town: Historical Guided Walking Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Edinburgh?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Edinburgh?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
