The estate’s expansive grounds are featured in several scenes, including the iconic courtyard where Jamie’s ambush on Sandringham takes place. With sweeping views of the River Forth and beautifully maintained gardens, Hopetoun House is a captivating fusion of history and cinematic allure. The tour includes the entrance fee to the grounds, you can choose to upgrade this to tour the house. If Hopetoun House is closed for a private event or seasonal closure (27 September 2026–spring 2027), we’ll visit Blackness Castle instead.

Not Even Stars Enough
Simple not stars enough. The 1 day Outlander tour with Highland experience was just phenomenal. Not only i was lucky we were just 4 attendees on the tour and we saw many Outlander places we simply had the best guide ROSE who really "walked the extra mile " for us and actually showed us more than what we've paid for. She was good in telling and really entertaining. Thank you for a Top Class Tour.

Dream come true
Absolutely loved the experience! As an Outlander fan myself, it was amazing to see the filming location and learn about the shooting, but also the history behind those places. Our guide, Rose, was fantastic and kept us entertained with stories, history and Outlander references. I would’ve liked to have more time for lunch, as we also wanted to visit the castle and didn’t have enough time to do both. We were able to grab a sandwich, but it’d been better if we had more time. Rose is such an amazing person, has a lot to say and teach. It was great!

Hoping for a wonderful Outlander experience, got a history lesson, and uncomfortable back seats in the bus instead.
The sights were wonderful, but I wish the tour guide knew more about Outlander. The first stop was Culross, and it cost money to enter the palace (Geillis Duncan’s house in Outlander), and there was absolutely no mention of Mercat Cross which we had to hunt down, and that’s usually what Outlander fans go to see. I was also appalled by the instructions not being clear. It said to meet inside Cafe Nero, and didn’t mention anything about going to the desk to the left to check in. Despite going an hour early for our tour, expecting to see our tour guide or other tour members trickle in, we decided to ask the desk 15 minutes before the tour, and were told the bus was outside, which we had to sit in the uncomfortable seats in the back of the bus, which might I add, was not air conditioned properly for an unusually hot day in Scotland. This was supposed to be a wonderful experience that my newly engaged fiancé and I were excited to book since our engagement, but we were disappointed instead. We learned more about our tour guide and Scottish history than we did Outlander, which we had even come to Scotland for. It’s definitely deterred us from doing themed tours ever again. An unfortunate L on our trip abroad.
