Fabulous Ecuador Trekking!
This was an incredible experience thanks to our amazing guide Alirijo. He was kind, patient, encoraging and incredibly competent. As a couple in our 70s, we were nervous about the altitudes at which we would be hiking. Alirijo assured us that Activexpedition's "acclimitazation process" works, and it did! We were successful with all the hikes. If I ever return to S. America, it will be with Activexpeditions. Highly recommend!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your review, come back soon for another adventure!

Wonderful hiking in the Andes!
Every day was a new adventure. My husband and I are in our 60s and live at sea level, so even with three days in and around Quito to acclimate I was worried about the high altitudes. I credit our very experienced guide, Daniel, for the fact that we had little difficulty and really enjoyed every day.
Response from the operator: Thanks for your review! we are so glad you enjoyed you trekking adventure with us!

Special trek on the Quilotoa Loop
I contacted Christian to organize a trip to the Quilotoa loop. He connected us to Victor from Sigchos who guided us on a 3 day trip from Sigchos to Isinlivi to Chugchilian and finally reaching Quiltoa with its beautiful emerald crater. Some people suggest that you can do the Quilotoa loop on your own without a guide. But, we would recommend a local guide. Victor, as a local to the area, took us on the most beautiful path through the valleys and countryside - a path we would not known how to do on our own. Victor was incredibly kind and explained many things along the way, such as the local herbs and vegetation we passed by. He was also always on time and his family helped to transport our luggage from hostel to hostel. We had an amazing time.
Response from the operator: Thanks for your review! we are so glad you had a great time with Victor!

Unforgettable Trip!
This trip was an amazing way to experience Ecuador! The landscapes and views in all of the treks were breathtaking and each place had its own unique charm. Our driver Jose was great; he navigated the roads like an expert and also prepared delicious lunches for us everyday that met the dietary needs of everyone in our group, while also making sure we tried all the different local fruits and foods that we don’t have in the United States. Our guide Daniel also did an excellent job. He was very personable and fun to talk to and also extremely knowledgeable about the different animals, plants and places we were seeing along the way everywhere we went. He did a very good job at making sure everyone was enjoying themselves and that we all got to do everything we wanted to. He made sure we saw all the highlights and also had local suggestions in towns like Baños that we wouldn’t have known to check out on our own during our free time. He always ensured that everyone was handling the altitude well on the hikes that got to higher altitudes like Chimborazo and Cotopaxi. He managed the different hiking skills and speeds of all the people in the group well. Our trip would not have been the same without him! All of the hotels we stayed at were nice and charming and all had great food. We had vegans and vegetarians in our group and they were always accommodated. The hotel in Baños is nice but it is far away from the town which took away from some of the time we could have spent there. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see the mountains in Ecuador and has a sense of adventure! The hiking could be challenging at times but was always worth it and there were other activities offered as well such as zip lining, visiting waterfalls, adventure parks, bridge jumping, etc. I will absolutely recommend this tour to my friends and family and would book with them again next time I’m in Ecuador. Thank you for the unforgettable trip!

Excellent hiking in a beautiful setting. These guys know how to do it right...
Great experience--exceeded my (already high) expectations! Christian (the owner), Daniel (our guide), and Jose (the driver) really have this trip dialed in. Well thought out, varied itinerary, with mountains, deep canyons, forests, and waterfalls. Very nice lodges with character. Great food. And excellent pre-trip communication. Felt sad when the trip came to an end. Will have to try their mountain-biking tour next year...
Response from the operator: Hola Nikola!... Thank you very much for your review, we are very glad you enjoyed our trekking Expedition, we really hope you come soon for your next adventure with us.

Why this scores 65
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Ecuador Trekking tour 8 days: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Quito.
How much does Ecuador Trekking tour 8 days cost?
+
Prices start at $1,770 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Quito usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Ecuador Trekking tour 8 days take?
+
Plan for about 192 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Quito is not rushed.
Is Ecuador Trekking tour 8 days worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 65 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 12 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Quito, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Ecuador Trekking tour 8 days?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Ecuador Trekking tour 8 days suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 192-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Ecuador Trekking tour 8 days?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Quito can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Quito and add a light layer if any part of the 192-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Ecuador Trekking tour 8 days start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Quito within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Quito?
+
On Outty we rank every Quito experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Cotopaxi Volcano full day tour with all the entrances, every day, Cotopaxi tour from Quito -horseback ride and hike-NO TOURISTY way, Baños Full Day Tour from Quito Including Entrances and Activities. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Quito?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Quito?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
What is included in Ecuador Trekking tour 8 days?
+
Included: Trekking poles; Private comfortable transport; Lunch; Dinner; and Top English Speaking Certified Guide. Not included: Tips for guides and drivers; Travel Insurance; Airport transfers; and Meals not mentioned on the itinerary. Always check the voucher for the final list before you travel.

+
