About this experience
Ready to ride for 12 miles on an eBike enjoying amazing landscapes and ruins of the roman countryside along the Appian way? Uphills won't scare us as this tour is tailored on any accustomed rider regardless the fitness level. The eBike will constantly assist you on any surface and condition. Different from most of the e-Bike tours of the Appian Way, we'll go off the beaten path and ride up to the Park of the Aqueducts, an incredible work of engineering whose remains are still imposing! Starting from the Circus Maximus, biggest chariot race truck of ancient Rome capable of 250000 people, and the Bath of Caracalla for 1500 people, our bike tour will take us to the Circus of Maxentius location chosen for the Movie Ben Hur in 1959, to several illustrious tombs flanking the Appian Way and meant to show off the social status. While riding, the guide will show you the secrets and the amazing technical skills to build a road perfectly straight for 50 km!

An incredible masterpiece of engineering, connecting Rome with the south-eastern part of the empire and built in 312 BC by Appius Claudius Caecus, a politician. With a length of 360 roman miles, most of them still with the original basalt blocks paving, the Appian way is the longest ancient roman road still preserved and location of important historical events like the crucifixion of Spartacus' 6000 soldiers along the road, the capture of Rome by the Allies during WWII and in 1960 summer Olympics, part of the men's marathon course.

An Incredible Way to Experience Rome
If touring the Appian Way on an e-bike, into and out of Rome, is not on you bucket list, then add it right now. I am confident that this tour is the best way to experience Rome. As you glide over ancient paths and past some of the most impressive ruins of the Ancient Rome, Ferdinando teaches you the lore/history of every site that you pass, and does so in a way that is both engaging and informative. Even if you are unfamiliar with Roman history, this tour is still thoroughly enjoyable. Riding the e-bikes down the stunningly beautiful roads/paths is fun on its own, but hearing Ferdinando in your ear explaining the significance of what you are riding past takes everything to a whole new level of experience. Ferdinando knows what he is talking about. Few tour guides are as knowledgeable and credentialed as he is, not as personable and hospitable. I will never forget this experience and will strongly recommend it to any and everyone I know who is planning a trip to this beautiful city.

His English is very good and he’s easy to talk to and ask questions. I think Ferdinando could get everyone to love Rome more, especially the places less seen. Ferdinando seems to know about every layer of Rome, from the layers of bricks to the stratified layers of ancient streets. He combines the big ideas with smaller details that complete the history of the ancient city and bring the monuments to life. If you think Roman history is boring, you won’t by the end of tour. And, if you are able and comfortable on a bike, Ferdinando’s tour of the Via Appia and aqueducts is an excursion that will be a highlight of your trip. You will see the most beautiful landscapes and monuments. You will experience a different side of Rome that everyone should.
