Valley of the Kings
Visit the Valley of the Kings, also known as the Valley of the Gates of the Kings. This iconic site served as the royal burial ground for nearly 500 years during the New Kingdom period, from the Eighteenth to the Twentieth Dynasties. Carved into the cliffs of a desert wadi on the west bank of the Nile—directly across from ancient Thebes (modern-day Luxor)—this sacred valley is the final resting place of pharaohs and powerful nobles. Nestled within the Theban Necropolis, the Valley is home to some of the most beautifully decorated tombs in Egypt, showcasing intricate wall paintings and hieroglyphs that have survived thousands of years.

Excellent 5h visit with Jaky to the valley of the kings and the Hatschepsut temple
We had a very nice tour with our guide Jaky and driver Abdelsaboy. We visited the valley of the kings and the Hatschepsut temple. Jaky (Jakline) is egyptologist, very knowledgeable and and also gave us interesting insights not only into the old tombs and temples, but also into how people live today in Egypt, their religions, etc. We got to see overall nine tombs (including the tree you need to pay separately for). We also appreciated for once to have a female guide. The tour was worth every cent. Abdelsaboy brought us the next day to Hurghada (separate private transfer). The car was nice, clean, safe and with AC.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We’re very happy to hear that you enjoyed your time in Luxor with Jakline and Abdelsaboy. It’s great that Jakline’s knowledge as an Egyptologist and her insights into both ancient history and modern Egyptian life made the experience special. We’re also glad the transfer to Hurghada was comfortable and smooth. We hope to welcome you again on another adventure in Egypt!

A unique and unforgettable experience
We booked two private tours. One with valley of kings and Hatshepsut temple on the west bank and the next day in the morning Karnak Temple in Luxor. We were very satisfied with Nasco Tours. Our tour guide, Nirmiin, did an excellent job - thank you! She's very knowledgeable and made our stay in Egypt a unique and unforgettable experience. Regarding Karnak temple, go there very early in the morning before the large tourist groups arrive. All transfers were done with a safe and well-maintained minibus.
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your warm review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed your tours to the Valley of the Kings, Hatshepsut Temple, and Karnak. Nirmiin will be very happy to know her knowledge and guidance helped make your visit special. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to Egypt again!

Excellent tour of Luxor
We had an excellent experience in Luxor with NASCO tours. Communication was excellent, coordination and timing was great, and our guide was wonderful. We spent the first afternoon on the East Bank at Karnak and Luxor temples. We started early the next morning with the balloon ride, then a full tour of the West Bank. Our guide had a PhD in Archeology, and he had all of the information and stories. We would highly recommend.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your wonderful review! We're thrilled you enjoyed your Luxor experience with NASCO Tours. Having a knowledgeable guide really brings those ancient temples to life! We appreciate your kind words about our communication and coordination - it means the world to our team. Hope to welcome you back to Egypt soon!

East & West Bank Luxor: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Luxor.
How much does East & West Bank Luxor cost?
+
Prices start at $97 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Luxor usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does East & West Bank Luxor take?
+
Plan for about 5.8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Luxor is not rushed.
Is East & West Bank Luxor worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Luxor, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule East & West Bank Luxor?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is East & West Bank Luxor suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5.8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book East & West Bank Luxor?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Luxor can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Luxor and add a light layer if any part of the 5.8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does East & West Bank Luxor start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Luxor within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Luxor?
+
On Outty we rank every Luxor experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Private Half Day Luxor Tour Valley of Kings & Queens, Hatshepsut, Full Day Tour to East and West Banks of Luxor (Private), Private Half day Tour to West bank. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Luxor?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Luxor?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
