A must-do tour of Monserrat!

Our Monserrat trip was a genuine highlight. The abbey and surrounding community were breathtaking both spiritually and architecturally. We especially loved the early morning access because, by the time our visit was ending, the crowds really started coming in. The quiet moments in the monastery, admiration of the Black Madonna, and contemplation in the various chapels were well-spent and memorable. The small group aspect is the best way to tour. The hike along the mountain side was a fresh break from the non-stop vibe of sightseeing. The guide is working to give his guests a great experience and takes everyone’s input on how to best spend our time. I highly recommend both the tour and our great guide!

Best hiking trip ever

We are so glad that we took this hike. We did get to see the black Madonna and look around the cathedral without any crowd. The best part was the hike and the company. ‎Albert is wonderful but just know that you should be in pretty good shape. I am 61 and my almost almost 64, and I consider us more athletic than your average seniors.. We were able to keep up with ‎Albert’s pace, but it is about a 4 mile an hour pace with the inclines being fairly steep and long. The views from the hike were nothing less than awesome. ‎Albert keeps a tight schedule and a really appreciate everyone being at their pick up points a couple minutes before he picks you up. He gets their precisely when he says he’s going to get there and really appreciates a punctual person.

Early Trip to Montserrat with hiking, abbey, very small group: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Barcelona.

How much does Early Trip to Montserrat with hiking, abbey, very small group cost?

+

Prices start at $62 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Barcelona usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Early Trip to Montserrat with hiking, abbey, very small group take?

+

Plan for about 6.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Barcelona is not rushed.

Is Early Trip to Montserrat with hiking, abbey, very small group worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 73 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 18 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Barcelona, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Early Trip to Montserrat with hiking, abbey, very small group?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Early Trip to Montserrat with hiking, abbey, very small group suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 12. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Early Trip to Montserrat with hiking, abbey, very small group?

+

Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Barcelona can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Barcelona and add a light layer if any part of the 6.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Early Trip to Montserrat with hiking, abbey, very small group start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Barcelona within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Barcelona?

+

Barcelona's Gaudí sites are capacity-limited and the official timed tickets go first, so most of the market is resellers with a guide attached. We weight those heavily on whether the guide is an architecture specialist. Beyond Gaudí, the tapas crawls in Gràcia and the Montserrat day trips carry the highest rankings in the city. On Outty we rank every Barcelona experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Gràcia Tapas and Vermouth Crawl, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel & Cliff Jump from Barcelona, Costa Brava Tour: Kayak, Snorkel, Cliff Jump & lunch Small Group. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

+

May, June, September and October. Sagrada Família light is best mid-morning. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Barcelona?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
