Buggy adventure

So overall good day and fun. The cave you go in on the beginning of the trip is beautiful and you can swim there, definitely worth it. Then there is tiny village where they talk about coffee and cocoa and some sampling of the products, we have done it on different tour so wasn't much invested this time, then there is local people dressed up and showing tribal dance which was kind of cool to see. Then the buggy ride, if you get the low fully open one you will get absolutely covered so be prepared to get filthy lol its good fun, but glasses doesn't cut it and you'll end up not being able to see, so I suggest bring or buy goggles, and clothes you will no longer wear for the rest of the trip... Its not a long ride on the buggies and you'll end up on Macao beach where you can wash yourself off, the beach looks dodgy with lot of people trying to sell you stuff so just mind your business and stick with the group. Also on the road while driving you'll see some real DR and the poor lifestyle, kids and women with babies begging for money, running after the buggies, they are harmless but it's hard to watch, breaks your heart, on the other hand it makes you realize how lucky we are.... I think it was good fun, if you're ready to get dirty do it!

Exursion

So, we did this adventure as a family. I would like to say it was fun. I would however, like to leave a few tips on here.... 1. If you are in the 2 seat buggie, buy the goggles, and please prepare to be covered with red clay from your head to your feet! Seriously! There is nothing on you that will not be covered with muddy water, 2. The vehicles that hold more people, are lots of fun, and you dont get filthy! 3. The cave is the best! You only get a very short time there. I wish there was an option to bypass the fake, tribal dance, and chat about local coffee. No offence, it just was not something we were interested in at all. 4. Something really hard, that I think you should prepare yourself for is, there are children of all ages and sizes, that chase your buggie as you are driving. Women, holding babies were running after us, begging for money. Its heartbreaking. Its anywhere you drive on this excursion. It was an learning experience for sure for my children about other peoples lives. 5. EVERYTHING is expensive if you use a debit card. 16% of your total bill is what you are charged:-) 6. The beach they take you to at the end, is not pretty, and there are people all over the beach trying to sell you stuff. Stick to the cave and actually driving the buggies. There was a lot of stopping and some of the carts did not work so well.

If they hadn't tried to cheat us they would have gotten a 5 out of 5

So let's start with being late... Than we get there they explain items we may want to buy. I purchased my bandanas with cash. But didn't have cash for my goggles so I used my card. They explain a 15% for using my card. I go to check out and this lady tells the lady to charge me for my bandanas and Goggles. When I told her she was wrong her English got real good. The man came over and pull the lady that took our cash and told her to give me my money back but than she didn't want to give me the 15% she charged my card Rolling her eyes like we couldn't count. Than a man comes running across the store thinking i am trying to leave without paying for the shoes I had in my basket but I literally was escorted to the cashier. Now the excursions was great until we came back they charged us for someone else's pictures after my hubby told them twice that the pictures weren't ours. As I am writing this I decided that they didn't deserve 3 stars, but 2.

Response from the operator: Dear client, thank you for your comment regarding your experience buying stuff in the stores arrow. remember that this is buggies tour. wish you a better experience in the stores. Thank you

Dune Buggies and Cenote Cave Half Day Adventure: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Punta Cana.

How much does Dune Buggies and Cenote Cave Half Day Adventure cost?

+

Prices start at $44 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Punta Cana usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Dune Buggies and Cenote Cave Half Day Adventure take?

+

Plan for about 4.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Punta Cana is not rushed.

Is Dune Buggies and Cenote Cave Half Day Adventure worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.4/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Punta Cana, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Dune Buggies and Cenote Cave Half Day Adventure?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Dune Buggies and Cenote Cave Half Day Adventure suitable for kids and families?

+

The operator sets a minimum age of 5. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4.5-hour running time when deciding.

How far in advance should I book Dune Buggies and Cenote Cave Half Day Adventure?

+

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Punta Cana can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Punta Cana and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Dune Buggies and Cenote Cave Half Day Adventure start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Punta Cana within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Punta Cana?

+

On Outty we rank every Punta Cana experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Punta Cana Zipline - 8 lines and a suspenseful hanging bridge, Punta Cana Buggy or ATV Tour with Macao Beach, Cave and Tastings, Buggy Excursion to Macau Beach and Natural Cave. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Punta Cana?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Punta Cana?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
