Extremely let down and ripped off
The tour felt heavily focused on upselling rather than the advertised desert experience. Dune bashing was very short, we paid for the premium safari to get 35 mins of dune bashing but only got 15 minutes at best, the camel ride lasted about a minute, and we were continually approached to spend more money. It felt like our guide Qamar led us into situations where we were forced to pay excessive amounts for head scarves etc rather then warning us about the scams. The guide provided little engagement during the experience and the driving to and from the desert felt excessively fast. Unfortunately, this did not meet our expectations for an evening desert safari.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're genuinely sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. We understand your disappointment regarding the duration of the dune bashing and the camel ride. Our Premium Red Dunes Safari is designed to include an extended dune bashing experience, and we will review your booking with our operations team to understand what happened on the day of your tour. We also regret to hear that you felt there was too much emphasis on optional purchases. Items such as traditional headscarves, quad bikes, dune buggies, and professional photography are offered by independent vendors at the desert camp and are always optional. Our guides should never make guests feel pressured to buy anything, and we take your comments about this seriously. We're especially concerned by your feedback regarding your guide, Qamar. Providing a friendly, informative, and safe experience is very important to us, and we will discuss your comments with him and our team to ensure our service standards are consistently maintained. We appreciate your honest feedback, as it helps us improve. If you're willing, please contact us directly with your booking reference so we can investigate your experience in more detail and work toward a suitable resolution. We hope you'll consider giving us another opportunity to provide the high-quality desert safari experience we strive to deliver.

Amazing desert experience
We had an amazing time on this desert safari! Our driver, Tufail, was super friendly, funny, and an expert at driving through the dunes. The dune bashing was such a thrill but still felt completely safe. He even stopped at a great spot to see the red dunes, which were absolutely beautiful and perfect for photos. The BBQ dinner later on was delicious, with lots of variety, and the shows in the evening were so much fun! Everything was really well organized. It was one of the highlights of our trip, and I’d definitely recommend it to anyone visiting! If you can, ask for Tufail — he made the whole experience even better!
Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your excellent review! We’re delighted to hear that you had an unforgettable desert safari and that Tufail made your experience so special. He truly is an expert driver, and we’re glad you enjoyed the dune bashing, the beautiful red dunes photo stop, and his friendly, fun attitude. It’s great to know you liked the BBQ dinner and evening shows as well — we always aim to keep everything well organised so our guests can fully relax and enjoy. Your recommendation means a lot to us, and we’d be delighted to welcome you again on your next visit to Dubai. — Calvin, Desert Leap Safari

Why this scores 69
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Dubai Red Dunes Desert Safari at Lahbab | BBQ Dinner, Camel Ride: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Dubai.
How much does Dubai Red Dunes Desert Safari at Lahbab | BBQ Dinner, Camel Ride cost?
+
Prices start at $49 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Dubai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Dubai Red Dunes Desert Safari at Lahbab | BBQ Dinner, Camel Ride take?
+
Plan for about 6 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Dubai is not rushed.
Is Dubai Red Dunes Desert Safari at Lahbab | BBQ Dinner, Camel Ride worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 30 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Dubai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Dubai Red Dunes Desert Safari at Lahbab | BBQ Dinner, Camel Ride?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Dubai Red Dunes Desert Safari at Lahbab | BBQ Dinner, Camel Ride suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 1. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 6-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Dubai Red Dunes Desert Safari at Lahbab | BBQ Dinner, Camel Ride?
+
Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Dubai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Dubai and add a light layer if any part of the 6-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Dubai Red Dunes Desert Safari at Lahbab | BBQ Dinner, Camel Ride start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Dubai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Dubai?
+
On Outty we rank every Dubai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Dubai Premium Red Dunes Safari, Camels & 5* BBQ at Al Khayma Camp, Dubai: Red Dunes Safari, Quad, Camel, Dune Bash, BBQ & Shows, Dubai Dune Buggy Safari Tour in Red Dunes Options. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Dubai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Dubai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
