Drive Experience on vintage car

No better way to see the mountains and coastline of Sorrento and Amalfi!

We initially rented a Fiat 500 1972. Unfortunately, this car was mechanically unavailable and we were substituted with an Alfa Romeo 1986 Spyder 1.6. I thought this was a fair and reasonable substitution. You can arrange pickup at any convenient location and the driver will bring the car to you. At the end of the day, the drop off is a similar convenience. In my opinion, the car was in good mechanical condition, although some of the interior fine points like trim and leather finishes are in need of some repairs. The car performed very well, however, second gear was a little glitchy and sensitive to rpm. We drove into the mountains of the sorrentine peninsula via the Pompeii approach and onward for lunch at Ravello. There are several very nice Belvedere to park the car at, have a bit of a break, and look out over the Bay of Salerno and the Amalfi coast. It was getting late in the day and we chose to return via the Amalfi Coast drive before dark. The experience of driving an open top convertible along this beautiful Italian roadway is remarkable. Make sure you have a very good navigator with you who can help you anticipate what is likely to come ahead. Be prepared for oncoming traffic at all times. Drive cautiously. The pickup was arranged in advance. However, we made use of cell phone contact to verify the exact time and location where we dropped off the vehicle.

One in a lifetime experience

The perfect car to enjoy Amalfitana and the coast of Sorrento

We rented the beautiful Alfa Romeo Spider from 1983. Delivered to the Napoli Airport parking lot by Giuseppe and Raffaele, the handover was quick with all the necessary information about the cars uniquenesses. From there we headed across the mountains to Positano and then to Ravello. It has been a stunning experience - I don't know who enjoyed it more ... myself or the onlookers. This car certainly draws it's share of attention. These cars get really rare now - so rent one as long as it lasts. Leaving Ravello in rain we were surprised about the rain tight roof and headed across the mountains over to Sorrento - again enjoying the driving experience on winding roads and also in town ... From there we rounded out our trip to Napoli, where Raffaele picked the car up on time in front of our downtown hotel ... couldn't have worked out better. Just make sure to know how to handle a classic car with a lovely carburated twin cam engine. Enjoy !!

unforgettable experience

We rented absolutely fantastic retro Alfa Romeo and spend a day on Amalfi coast making great photos. Its been an eye catching trip with different people both tourists and locals approaching us to see the car. The car is not easy to drive especially on the narrow coast roads, thus one should be prepared to sit and drive less comfortably than in a usual new car. And if you want a memorable experience - here it is ,so put on your Borsalino hat and buon viaggio !
