Simply the best!
This was an amazing experience for my fiancé and I! Our pilot Phillip was awesome. The staff were super courteous and responsive. The views were spectacular! Flying right past the skyscrapers was just breathtaking. Thank you for helping us create this magical experience!

No show for a 2 year old's first helicopter ride.
For Mother’s Day, I booked a helicopter ride for my wife and 2.5 year old son. He loves helicopters. It’s really cute. I figured what a special thing for them to both take their first helicopter ride together. Our son was excited, we got our email confirmation, and set out to ride the helicopter. That’s how the trip started. The trip ended with our son crying and screaming “helicopter! I want helicopter!” Why? Because these folks decided to cancel the flight and not tell us. So we’re standing at an airport an hour and a half away from our house while our son is screaming and when “Cal” called back and told me they reached out to everyone. I asked “how did you try to reach me?” And he admitted that they didn’t. He then asked “what do you want me to do?” and went on to say that someone had to move cross country and that “we’re all human”. I’m sure that another company will honor the reservations they make and confirm. I’d avoid this one if I were you. Yep, we’re all human. Some more than others, Cal.

Wish I didn’t have to leave this review.
Wanted to surprise a lady friend of mine when we were both in the city for the first time, with an activity I was most looking forward to amongst all the other activities I had planned. The idea of being in the air, as if we were on the closest thing to a magic carpet ride we could be on, was something I couldn’t pass up, especially as the opportunity to do this 2 person minimum activity wouldn’t come again. However while it was undoubtedly the weather and obvious need for safety that caused the cancellation, it was the fact there was absolutely no notice of said cancellation that got through to me, that was the most frustrating and disappointing thing I’ve had. Especially since it was only after arriving in the airport from the city to well outside the city that I was told, by the staff of another company or the airport in general no less, that no one from this company was even there and our activity was undoubtedly cancelled and that it never would’ve happened that day, that I realized that more than an hour of our time and a bit less than $100 USD in ride share transportation costs, were wasted, all for nothing. After inquiring, I was informed that they had wrong phone number on record and any message or any message hinting at a cancellation that was meant to be sent to me, never got to me. While I had noticed the weather wasn’t sunny, the fact it was raining only lightly coupled with the fact that there was no notice by email or text, meant that I had thought the flight would still be a go, presuming that if it was really cancelled then the company would employ the multiple other ways to communicate the cancellation, as I’m sure they could’ve had my email address or other messaging methods, something I checked and rechecked before and during my trip up. I acknowledge it would be undoubtedly unfair and unreasonable to blame any flight company for the weather, and with the confusion on the phone number, which were both things that may have been out of this company’s control. And I acknowledge that a representative did eventually back to me, after I called from another phone line, and did eventually give me a full refund on the activity. Therefore, these were the reasons why I am not giving a lower rating, but unfortunately it is because of the disappointments mentioned earlier that I can’t give any higher. In the future, I could see myself doing an activity like this again, even with this same company, if the conditions were right and if I would have more assurance and confidence that something like this wouldn’t happen again.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We're truly sorry to hear how your plans were affected and how frustrating the situation must have been — especially given the thought and effort you put into making the day special. Unfortunately, the contact information we received with your booking was incorrect, which prevented our team from being able to reach you directly. All communications regarding the weather-related cancellation were sent promptly to the phone number and email address provided at the time of booking. Without accurate contact details, we had no other means of getting in touch. We completely understand your disappointment, especially after traveling to the airport and learning about the cancellation through a third party. That’s never the experience we want for our guests. While weather and safety are outside of our control, clear and timely communication is something we take seriously — and it's incredibly unfortunate that this breakdown occurred due to inaccurate information in the system. We appreciate your acknowledgment that our team did issue a full refund and followed up once you reached out. Should you choose to fly with us in the future, we’d love the chance to provide the experience you originally envisioned — one that’s smooth, magical, and unforgettable.

Why this scores 37
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Downtown Philadelphia Helicopter Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Philadelphia.
How much does Downtown Philadelphia Helicopter Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $143 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Philadelphia usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Downtown Philadelphia Helicopter Tour take?
+
Plan for about 0.2 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Philadelphia is not rushed.
Is Downtown Philadelphia Helicopter Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 37 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Philadelphia, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Downtown Philadelphia Helicopter Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Downtown Philadelphia Helicopter Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 0.2-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Downtown Philadelphia Helicopter Tour?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Philadelphia can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Philadelphia and add a light layer if any part of the 0.2-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Downtown Philadelphia Helicopter Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Philadelphia within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Philadelphia?
+
Philadelphia's core is walkable: Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell need timed entry, the mural arts programme runs the largest public art collection in the country, and the Reading Terminal and Italian Market food walks fill the middle of the day. Outty Ranking favours operators who secure Independence Hall tickets rather than sending you to the visitor centre queue. On Outty we rank every Philadelphia experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Revolution and the Founders: History Tour of Philadelphia, Dark Philly Adult Night Tour, Philadelphia Old City Historic Walking Tour with 10+ Top Sites. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Philadelphia?
+
April to June and September to October, mild weather and open patios. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Philadelphia?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
