Great value for money
A lovely half day trip. The staff were very helpful and really could not do enough for us. And the price, which included soft drinks and a snack on the boat as well as lunch after, was incredible value.

Seeing dolphins was worth the trip
We managed to spot dolphins and that alone made the morning memorable. The islands were peaceful and the boat ride was comfortable. We stayed a little longer at one beach than I expected, but I still enjoyed the experience.

Mad Sum Pig Island is Beautiful
It was a pleasant experience but needs better planning. We were able to see the pink dolphins but couldn't get close enough to see them or photograph them well because the speedboat allows the longtail boats to stay closer which kind of scares the dolphins away as they are really loud. The beach at Mad Sum was really gorgeous and the pigs were cute. I would have loved more time here and perhaps even lunch on the beach here. It felt like time here was rushed to get back to the pier for lunch. I felt the guides could have been more helpful in offering to take photos of us solo travellers like with similar tours I've taken. Lunch was excellent though - best Thai curry I've had! We got back to the hotel quite early so the tour could definitely be extended a bit.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your thoughtful feedback. We’re happy to hear you enjoyed seeing the pink dolphins, Mad Sum Beach, and especially the lunch. We also appreciate your suggestions regarding the tour timing, more time at the beach, and additional support from the guides, especially for solo travelers. Your comments are very valuable and will help us improve future experiences. Thank you again for sharing your experience, and we truly appreciate your support and hope to welcome you again for an even better experience in the future. Best Regards, Oh-Hoo Team

Soft drinks are not...
Very nice trip with a relatively small group. Food was very good. Soft drinks (only water) are not included, although it’s metioned. The guides really try to find the dolphins and do not lure them.
Response from the operator: Thank you for your thoughtful review. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the trip, the smaller group size, and the quality of the food. We also truly appreciate your recognition of our guides’ respectful approach to dolphin spotting, as protecting wildlife is very important to us. Thank you as well for your comment regarding the soft drinks; we will review the description to ensure it is as clear and accurate as possible. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again on another trip in the future. Best Regards, Oh-Hoo Team

Better ways to spend your day in Samui
First of all, the tour experience is really good. The transport is very high quality and efficient and when you get to the operator HQ the setup is very good. The staff also are excellent, very kind and great with kids. We did the dolphin / pig island trip. The journey to see the dolphins was rough - about an hour there in total and these boats are fast. The water was choppy and the experience was very unpleasant for all, several people were sick. Again, not the operators fault but you should be aware of this before booking if you get travel / sea sick. When we got to the dolphin area we spotted a few, dipping in and out of the water. Unfortunately due to the design of the boats it was difficult to see (apart from an open section of the boat which was full). For the journey there and back (nearly two hours on rough/choppy waters) I don’t think I would do this again. We then did a snorkelling stop off which nobody seemed that bothered about and the water was too murky to really see anything. Then we arrived at pig island. My wife and daughter loved this but in reality it is an absolute tourist trap hell hole - it’s nice to see the pigs but the island is covered in pig muck and there isn’t really more than about 30 mins worth of pig watching to do. If I could do it again I would just opt for a private charter to pig island and back in a couple of hours. This was supposed to be a half day tour but we left at 8am and arrived back at the hotel after 3pm. Again, the staff, setup fantastic… but the tour was meh
Response from the operator: Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback. We truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and are glad to hear that you found our staff, transport, and overall setup excellent. We will be sure to pass your compliments on. We’re very sorry to hear that the dolphin watching and the journey to the islands were uncomfortable due to rough seas. Your comments about the limited visibility of dolphins and the snorkelling conditions are noted and will help us improve the experience for future guests. We understand that the Pig Island can feel crowded and touristy, and we appreciate your honest feedback about the time spent there. Your suggestion about a private charter is a valuable tip for future visitors who want a shorter, more focused visit. We truly appreciate your input and hope to use it to make improvements while maintaining the aspects you enjoyed. We hope we may have the opportunity to provide you with a better experience in the future. Best Regards, Tawan Oh-Hoo Team

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Koh Samui.
How much does Dolphin Watching Tan and Pig Island Tour from Koh Samui cost?
+
Prices start at $2000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Koh Samui usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Dolphin Watching Tan and Pig Island Tour from Koh Samui take?
+
Plan for about 5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Koh Samui is not rushed.
Is Dolphin Watching Tan and Pig Island Tour from Koh Samui worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 42 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.8/5 across 16 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Koh Samui, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Dolphin Watching Tan and Pig Island Tour from Koh Samui?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Dolphin Watching Tan and Pig Island Tour from Koh Samui suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Dolphin Watching Tan and Pig Island Tour from Koh Samui?
+
Around 6 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Koh Samui can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Koh Samui and add a light layer if any part of the 5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Dolphin Watching Tan and Pig Island Tour from Koh Samui start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Koh Samui within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Koh Samui?
+
On Outty we rank every Koh Samui experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Angthong National Marine Park VIP Small Group Tour, Cooking Class in Koh Samui with Micro Organic Garden, Half Day Elephant Home Sanctuary in Samui. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Koh Samui?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Koh Samui?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
