About this experience
The hike to Dois Irmãos Hill is certainly one of the most interesting hikes in Rio de Janeiro, not only for being a formidable landmark on the right side of the trendy Ipanema and Leblon beaches, but also because of its social aspect. The Dois Irmãos trail starts on the top of the Vidigal Favela, which we will go up by local van or moto-taxi. After hiking for around one and half hour through the forest, we will reach the summit of the highest mountain, standing at 533m / 1750ft high. It is the perfect viewpoint to understand the social occupation and contrasts in Rio de Janeiro and also the beautiful way the Tijuca Forest mixes with the city. On the way back, we will go down walking and make a tour through the favela.

Amazing tour with Weber and Rafael!
The trip with Weber and Rafael was truly the highlight of our time in Brazil! They are incredibly experienced guides in Tres Picos and Rio de Janeiro, and everything was perfectly organized from start to finish. We had an amazing stay in the mountains at Tres Picos with Serge and his wife, who brew their own beers and make their own pizza's. Highly recommended to anyone looking for an authentic and unforgettable adventure!
Response from the operator: Hi, Sem! Thank you so much for your feedback! We had amazing days in Rio. You and your group are awesome! Very nice pace in Tres Picos mountain. The trail is quite steep and you guys made it great! Was a honor for us to show you the beauties of the countryside of Rio and the capital. You are fantastic people and our tours were special and unforgettable! Always count on us for an upcoming adventure in Rio. Kind regards.

Incredible views of Rio!
Bernardo was an awesome guide. Our group took about 3.5 hours to complete. The trail is somewhat steep at some points but is otherwise manageable. The view from the top of the "older brother" of the Two Brothers mountains are incredible.
Response from the operator: Hi, Eric! You guys had an amazing day with us. Was a pleasure to show you the local culture with a nice view! Thank you so much for your feedback! Always count on us for an upcoming adventure in Rio!

Great hike with breathtaking view
We had a great experience with Bernardo at the two brothers hike! The hike is very safe and has the best view I have ever seen. The trail is slightly steep and if you are in decent shape you will make it up quickly. The final part isn’t scary and it is easy to take incredible photos without having to actually be close to the edge. This is a great alternative to those who want to see an amazing but don’t want to do technical climbing of Pedra Gavea. We also got to walk through the Favela and see the local life there and that was also quite an experience. Thanks everyone at RioXtreme for this amazing activity 👍
Response from the operator: Hi Brent! Thank you so much for your feedback! You guys had a beautiful and sunny day that makes this tour even more amazing and you can check the main spots of the city from the top. It was a great pleasure for us! Always count on us for an upcoming adventure! Best regards.

Dois Irmãos Hiking + Favela Tour (Two Brothers Hill): questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Rio de Janeiro.
How much does Dois Irmãos Hiking + Favela Tour (Two Brothers Hill) cost?
+
Prices start at $75 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Rio de Janeiro usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Dois Irmãos Hiking + Favela Tour (Two Brothers Hill) take?
+
Plan for about 4 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Rio de Janeiro is not rushed.
Is Dois Irmãos Hiking + Favela Tour (Two Brothers Hill) worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 3 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Rio de Janeiro, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Dois Irmãos Hiking + Favela Tour (Two Brothers Hill)?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Dois Irmãos Hiking + Favela Tour (Two Brothers Hill) suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 18. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 4-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Dois Irmãos Hiking + Favela Tour (Two Brothers Hill)?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Rio de Janeiro can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Rio de Janeiro and add a light layer if any part of the 4-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Dois Irmãos Hiking + Favela Tour (Two Brothers Hill) start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Rio de Janeiro within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Rio de Janeiro?
+
On Outty we rank every Rio de Janeiro experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Pedra da Gávea hike, your best experience in Rio, Rio's Full Day: Selarón Steps, Christ & Sugarloaf – Tickets & Lunch Included, Rio: Tijuca Rainforest Hike, Wildlife, Waterfalls & Caves. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Rio de Janeiro?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Rio de Janeiro?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
