Not worth the investment.
Not worth the money. Mosteiro the time you are driving in the car. There were about 4 stops made in the whole 3+hr trip 3 of them were not worth stopping by. The Mercado, which was nice to see but unfortunately just a rundown market. The church was the only place I would say it was nice to see. Overall, this “trip” you can make on your own for wayyyyy less money than this agency’s charging you. And to top it off, gratuity is not included which is wild because this trip was $73+ USD per person. Take your money else where.
Response from the operator: Well, you obviously did not like the tour... or maybe you are among the 1% customers that don't like Salvador ? Because the 3 places not worth stopping by, according to you, were 1) the Tororo lake and the huge sculptures of the Orixas, spirits of the Candomblé religion, a most beautiful art work, postcard of the city. 2) The panoramic view on Salvador from the fort of Monte Serrat (Boa Viagem), which is recognized as the most beautiful view on the city. 3) the beautiful Ribeira bay where we had lunch, a delicious moqueca, known in Salvador as the place to be for sea food, a place away from tourists tracks... You did not mention the lunch, so i guess you did not like it either!! :-) You did not like the fantastic Sao Joaquim market, alright, a rundown market for you, but it has been declared by the state of Bahia and the city of Salvador as Cultural Patrimony of Salvador. It is not touristic, and we are happy and proud to show it to our customers, and 99% of them just love it... The market shop keepers are also happy to see visitors from all around the world! And incredible, the place "you would say nice to see", is the church of Bonfim, (also famous worldwide for its brazilian ribbons)... A church most important for the syncretism of religions, the most important church in Salvador, and in Brazil... it seems you booked the wrong tour, as you did not like anything... We did exactly what was described in the Trip Advisor listing. Maybe the tour lacked of novelties, since you were already familiar with a lot of things.... a few comments on your evaluation: A lot of car driving. Well, the city is big, and your apartment is at the opposite of the city, but anyway, we never did more than 15 minutes driving between 2 stops. Except on the way back, we had to drive 20 km, and you did feel sick, probably related to the fact that you were 5 month pregnant... i'd say we drove 40 km altogether, maybe an hour inside the car during the tour, plus 30 minutes on the way back... Tour duration is 4 to 5 hours with lunch. (note that we did not charge an extra for the pick up) The price of the tour is a very good price compared to all trip advisor tours... don't forget we only receive from Trip Advisor a fraction of the amount. and last, but not least, an unfair comment about the tip (gratuity) not included... OF COURSE it is not included!!! our customers can give if they feel like it, it is totally up to them... and indeed, you did not give anything to our guide!! :-) To summarize, i cannot find any constructive comments in your evaluation, points of improvement, but i will try to adjust the tour description to better inform our visitors! thank you for that!
