    Private Driver was Perfect!

We booked a private tour/driver to accommodate our desire to visit Hellbrunn Palace trick fountains and see the puppet show at the Marionette Theater. Our driver’s (Dominik) pick ups and drop offs were perfect for our activities! He was easy to reach before the trip via What’sApp.

    Amazing tour

This was a great tour. Andrej our driver was very informative and professional. We travelled in a luxury van (there were 5 of us). He was punctual and communicated very well with us regarding pick up and drop off times. He drove us straight to Salzburg (our request) and allowed us however to wander around for however longer little we wanted which ended up being 4 hours- it was such a beautiful city. It was so nice hopping back in the van and being dropped directly to our hotel in Munich.

Response from the operator: It sounds like Andrej provided a seamless and enjoyable experience for your trip to Salzburg! Traveling in a luxury van must have made the journey even more comfortable for your group of five. His professionalism, punctuality, and excellent communication ensured everything went smoothly, while his flexibility allowed you to fully enjoy Salzburg at your own pace. The direct drop-off at your hotel in Munich is such a convenient way to end the day. What a great way to explore a beautiful city like Salzburg. We're glad you had a great time and we hope to do the same the next time you visit Europe!

    A must do!

Fantastic trip- seamless pick ups and drop offs. excellent driving and great conversation. Martin was a fantastic driver. He pointed out different sites, made great recommendations and even lent us an umbrella. Salzburg was gorgeous and I would absolutely recommend going- the fortress was amazing and I loved their Christkindlmarkt.

Response from the operator: Hi, Casey! It sounds like you had an incredible trip! Martin's seamless service, engaging conversation, and thoughtful gestures, like lending an umbrella, clearly enhanced your experience. Salzburg truly is magical, and it’s great to hear you enjoyed the fortress and Christkindlmarkt. Thanks for sharing this recommendation!

    Disappointed

The driver, Martin was great but this excursion DOES NOT include a guide. You are dropped off in Salzburg in front of the Mozart Museum. If you want to see the fortress, good luck finding the cable car. Our driver told us it. Is difficult to find. A map would have been helpful. Skip this one and pay for a walking tour.

Response from the operator: Thank you for your valuable feedback. We want to clarify that in all our product descriptions, as well as in the **welcome message**, we clearly state that the driver is not an official guide but is English-speaking and knowledgeable about the locations you visit. Martin, our only five-star driver, always strives to ensure that every guest has a great experience. He confirmed that he provided the usual explanations and shared all the necessary information with you. However, he acknowledges that it was his mistake not to accompany you to help find the cable car, which could have improved your experience. We understand your frustration about the lack of a map. We appreciate this suggestion, and moving forward, we will ensure that maps and other essential information are provided to make our clients feel even more comfortable exploring new places. Thank you again for taking the time to share your thoughts. We hope you’ll give us another chance to improve your experience on future tours.

    Comfortable and flexible trip

I loved the flexibility of a private tour. The company also accommodated my request for a stop at Hallstatt. Also, I really appreciated the driver, Tomas going over and beyond when we had a personal glitch. However, there was a guide accompanying us during the trip

Response from the operator: Hi, Tannu! We appreciate your nice feedback. Thank you for booking with us. We are glad we managed to provide exactly what you wanted, and especially that Tomas helped make your day a bit better. It will be our pleasure to see you soon again and assist you with any other transfer all across Europe.

Discover Salzburg on a Private Day Trip from Munich: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Munich.

How much does Discover Salzburg on a Private Day Trip from Munich cost?

    +

Prices start at $438 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Munich usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Discover Salzburg on a Private Day Trip from Munich take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Munich is not rushed.

Is Discover Salzburg on a Private Day Trip from Munich worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 55 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.4/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Munich, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Discover Salzburg on a Private Day Trip from Munich?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Discover Salzburg on a Private Day Trip from Munich suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Discover Salzburg on a Private Day Trip from Munich?

    +

Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Munich can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Munich and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Discover Salzburg on a Private Day Trip from Munich start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Munich within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Munich?

    +

On Outty we rank every Munich experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Guided Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial Site Tour with Train from Munich, Munich Classic Bike Tour @ 11.30am with Surfers & beergarden stop, Dachau Memorial Half-Day Tour from Munich (Early-Start). The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Munich?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Munich?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
