   We begin in Monti, Rome’s oldest residential district, located near the Roman Forum—the heart of ancient Rome’s political, religious, and social life. Monti’s narrow cobblestone streets hide layers of history, from Roman ruins beneath the surface to medieval churches above. This vibrant neighborhood blends centuries of culture with modern artisan shops and cafes, giving a real sense of Rome’s evolving story.

2. Next, we pass the Colosseum, an architectural marvel built between 70-80 AD under Emperor Vespasian. This massive amphitheater once hosted gladiatorial games, wild beast hunts, and public spectacles attended by up to 50,000 spectators. The Colosseum symbolizes the grandeur and complexity of Roman civilization, its engineering genius, and the social dynamics of ancient Rome.

3. Circo Massimo

   Our route continues past the Circus Maximus, the largest and oldest chariot-racing stadium in Rome, dating back to the 6th century BC. Capable of seating around 250,000 people, it was the epicenter of Roman entertainment for centuries. The Circus was also a place for public gatherings, triumphal processions, and religious festivals, reflecting the cultural and political life of the empire.

4. Giardino degli Aranci

   We stop at the tranquil Orange Gardens on the Aventine Hill, offering breathtaking panoramic views of Rome. Though the gardens were created in the 20th century, the hill itself holds deep history, once the site of ancient Roman aristocratic villas and later Christian churches. From here, you can see landmarks like St. Peter’s Basilica, the Tiber River winding through the city, and the sprawling ruins of the Palatine Hill.

5. Fontana dell'Acqua Paola

   Our next stop is the Fountain of Acqua Paola, constructed in 1612 to celebrate the restoration of the ancient Aqua Traiana aqueduct. This grand Baroque fountain marks the arrival of fresh water to the Janiculum Hill area, a crucial development in Rome’s water supply. The fountain’s majestic design, with its cascading water and classical motifs, embodies the city’s ongoing relationship with its ancient engineering heritage.

6. Piazzale Giuseppe Garibaldi

   We visit Piazzetta Garibaldi, a small but historically significant square named after Giuseppe Garibaldi, the legendary general who played a key role in Italy’s unification in the 19th century. This peaceful spot on the Janiculum Hill is a tribute to Italy’s struggle for independence and offers a reflective pause amid the city’s rich historical layers. This is the last stop.

7. Trastevere

   On the return journey, we pass through Trastevere, a neighborhood that has preserved much of its medieval character. Known for its narrow, winding streets and lively squares, Trastevere was historically home to Rome’s working-class fishermen, craftsmen, and immigrants. Today, it remains one of the city’s most vibrant areas, blending authentic Roman culture with bohemian charm, historic churches, and bustling nightlife.
