Wonderful and kind staff and a very fun time
The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming and extremely good teachers. Even for someone who lives in Japan and knows Japanese food well, I got a lot out of the experience. While I didn't speak very much English with the staff, as I speak Japanese, I could tell the staff member who spoke English was very good and I wasn't worried if I needed to switch to English at any point. The food was delicious and the classroom was small and homely. I cannot recommend this experience highly enough! It is a great way to learn more about Osaka. おおきに!
Response from the operator: Thank you for your comments! Hope you can move to Narita area soon to get more opportunities in Japan. We love your smile!! Best regards!

A must-do on your trip to Osaka!
What an amazing experience! The host was incredibly friendly and easy to talk to in English, and the chef was extremely warm and inviting. We made okonomiyaki (pictured) and takoyaki, two original foods from Osaka. If you travel here, you'll see tons of shops selling them, so it was such a cool, unique (and delicious!!) experience to be able to make them ourselves. The best part was that we got to choose the combo of fillings for each takoyaki! There was cheese, sausage, kimchi, mochi, the traditional octopus, and more. It was tons of fun and would be a great family experience. And what we couldn't finish, we could take home! 10/10 would recommend!

We made Takoyaki!
We had a fun and memorable experience learning how to cook Takoyaki, a classic Osaka dish! It’s a fun, interactive experience and would be great for couples, families or friends! We got to choose our own fillings, so the takoyaki was super customizable. We had such fun flipping the takoyaki and making them into perfect round balls. We got to eat then at the end and they were absolutely delicious! I highly recommend this experience!

Top tier Osaka culture experience making Takoyaki
Visiting Osaka you’re bound to see Takoyaki stalls everywhere. Skilled chefs serving up delicious golden balls of lightly fried batter and succulent Octopus. But how do they make them? This class is a great experience to see how one of Osaka’s most famous dishes is made. We were taught be a really fun and skilled chef who showed us how easy it is to make Takoyaki. We got to chose all of our own fillings and got some special reccomendations on other delicious options from Octopus if you’d prefer meat or vegetables. It was a hoot and would be great for kids and groups as it’s easy and you can all get involved.

Discover Osaka Cuisine through Cooking Class Experience: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Osaka.
How much does Discover Osaka Cuisine through Cooking Class Experience cost?
+
Prices start at $11000 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Osaka usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Discover Osaka Cuisine through Cooking Class Experience take?
+
Plan for about 1.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Osaka is not rushed.
Is Discover Osaka Cuisine through Cooking Class Experience worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 52 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 4 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Osaka, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Discover Osaka Cuisine through Cooking Class Experience?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Discover Osaka Cuisine through Cooking Class Experience suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 3. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 1.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Discover Osaka Cuisine through Cooking Class Experience?
+
Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Osaka can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Osaka and add a light layer if any part of the 1.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Discover Osaka Cuisine through Cooking Class Experience start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Osaka within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Osaka?
+
On Outty we rank every Osaka experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Hungry Osaka Street Food Tour:15 Tastings & 3 Drinks with a Local, Ultimate Osaka Walking Tour: Castle, Dotonbori, Gems & Lunch, Osaka Castle Walking Tour and Castle Tower Admission. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Osaka?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Osaka?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
