    Catamaran with friends

I had the opportunity to return to Cancun again and this catamaran tour is certainly fascinating. The animator makes the journey fun.

Response from the operator: ¡Muchas gracias por compartir tu experiencia! 🌊✨

    Snorkeling was only for 9...

Snorkeling was only for 9 min. My watch recorded the swim time. The motor broke on the boat upon arrival to isla nothing was told to us and we had to sail all the back. Took us almost 2 hours to sail back, we were starving, a lot of people had to use the bathroom that was absolutely disgusting. The sun went down so it got pretty chilly. I felt so bad for the kids that were on there.

Overall good, if return transportation was better.

As 1 of about 30 independent consultants from a large US based Fragrance Direct Selling Association were on this boat. We made sure to let them know at shuttle pick up, we'd need to be back to hotel by 5pm. At the marina we informed the captain of boat the same thing. We headed out, the weather was beautiful. The snorkeling was just ok, we saw a few fish, but wasn't super impressed with what we were able to see snorkeling. Isls Mejeres was a cute little place to do plenty of shopping. The buffet was OK, nothing great, but food none the less. We didn't get back to the marina until after 4pm, and the shuttles were no where to be seen. There was 1 shuttle, but we needed 3. I ended up calling an Uber as it was 450pm. My Uber didn't get us back until 527pm. Which was cutting close to our 6pm dinner time, and I made it back way earlier than most of the others with Uber. But had to pay to get back Was disappointed with transportation getting back to resort. It also started torrential downpour rain, leaving many in the rain waiting on shuttles.

    When a person says no...

When a person says no that means no, do not force something upon someone. The alcohol on the boat was a bit much, the snorkeling was very minimal and the equipment was terrible. We spent more time driving the boat and at the beach than actually enjoying the excursion. For $75us I’m not fully impressed

Discover Isla Mujeres: Catamaran, Snorkeling, and "Ice Bar": questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cancun.

How much does Discover Isla Mujeres: Catamaran, Snorkeling, and "Ice Bar" cost?

    +

Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cancun usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Discover Isla Mujeres: Catamaran, Snorkeling, and "Ice Bar" take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cancun is not rushed.

Is Discover Isla Mujeres: Catamaran, Snorkeling, and "Ice Bar" worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 51 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cancun, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Discover Isla Mujeres: Catamaran, Snorkeling, and "Ice Bar"?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Discover Isla Mujeres: Catamaran, Snorkeling, and "Ice Bar" suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Discover Isla Mujeres: Catamaran, Snorkeling, and "Ice Bar"?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cancun can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cancun and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Discover Isla Mujeres: Catamaran, Snorkeling, and "Ice Bar" start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cancun within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Cancun?

    +

On Outty we rank every Cancun experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Early Access to Chichen Itza All Inclusive with Valladolid and Cenote Swim, Whale Shark Tour from Cancun, Playa del Carmen, Tulum and Riviera Maya, Small-Group 3 Hidden Cenotes Adventure with Tequila Tasting. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Cancun?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Cancun?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
