What you get
About this experience
Discover Mexican modernist architecture and monumental public art on a private tour of two remarkable cultural landmarks. Begin at the Museo Casa Estudio Diego Rivera y Frida Kahlo, one of Latin America’s pioneering examples of functionalist architecture. Designed by Juan O’Gorman, the striking red-and-blue studio houses reveal the creative environments in which Rivera worked and Frida Kahlo lived. Explore their separate spaces, connected by the famous rooftop bridge, and gain insight into their art, personal lives, and unconventional relationship. Continue to UNAM’s Ciudad Universitaria, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Mexico’s most extraordinary integrations of art, architecture, and landscape. Admire Juan O’Gorman’s monumental stone mosaics covering the Biblioteca Central and discover David Alfaro Siqueiros’s dynamic murals on the Rectoría building. Led by an art specialist, this tour connects intimate creative spaces with the monumental scale of Mexican Muralism.

Traffic and travel time
Museums are too far apart in distance too much of the day spent in transit in cabs and Ubers. The time of day lent to high traffic in both directions
Response from the operator: Dear Tina, Thank you very much for sharing your feedback and I’m truly sorry that the transit time felt longer than expected. Under normal conditions, the ride between the Anahuacalli Museum and the Diego Rivera Studio takes approximately 20 minutes. However, your tour took place on October 31, when the city was already preparing for the Día de los Muertos parade, and some streets/avenues were temporarily closed, which unfortunately extended the driving time that day. We always try to make the most of any transit time providing context, historical information and additional explanations so our guests continue experiencing the storyline of the tour and don’t simply “lose time in transit.” Your feedback is very valuable and we will continue working on adapting routes when there are large city events. Thank you again for joining us and despite the traffic, I sincerely hope the museums, the collections and the cultural experience were meaningful for you. Warm regards, Anastasiya City Art Tours Mexico

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Diego Rivera Studio & UNAM Private Tour with Admission Tickets: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mexico City.
How much does Diego Rivera Studio & UNAM Private Tour with Admission Tickets cost?
+
Prices start at $86 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mexico City usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Diego Rivera Studio & UNAM Private Tour with Admission Tickets take?
+
Plan for about 2.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mexico City is not rushed.
Is Diego Rivera Studio & UNAM Private Tour with Admission Tickets worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.5/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable culture & history in Mexico City, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Diego Rivera Studio & UNAM Private Tour with Admission Tickets?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Diego Rivera Studio & UNAM Private Tour with Admission Tickets suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 2.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Diego Rivera Studio & UNAM Private Tour with Admission Tickets?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mexico City can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mexico City and add a light layer if any part of the 2.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Diego Rivera Studio & UNAM Private Tour with Admission Tickets start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mexico City within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mexico City?
+
On Outty we rank every Mexico City experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Frida Kahlo VIP [Museum Tickets Included] Walk, Markets & Churros, Local Foodie Adventure CDMX: Tacos & more with Sherpa Food Tours, Mexico City Historical Centre Food Tour with 7 Tastings & Drinks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mexico City?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mexico City?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
