This was the best tour ever
We went with Nik, Dev and the team for both the food tours and the slum tour. It was eye-opening and fantastic. Never have we experienced a trip like this before - the tour of the laundry and the slumdog tour brought us to meet with real people, working living, educating in one of the biggest cities in the world. Nik and the team are incredible, informed, warm, funny, generous, educators, running their own NGO to help schools and families in Mumbai - do this tour if it is the one thing you want to do.

This was incredible
An absolute MUST! We are a family of five with 3 three children aged 3,8 and 10 and on both tours the whole family absolutely loved it. Nick was amazing, so gracious, friendly, knowledgeable, kind and professional. The tour of the slums was incredible , having a tour meant you were able to see a totally deeper level of the city. Nick was very generous with his time and sweet to the children. We were picked up directly from the hotel. He has his own ngo and with the light and knowledge you are given from the experience you come away wanting to do everything you can to help. Fantastic company. The next day we went on another tour of ghandis house and the laundry and the hill with another guide called Deve who like nick was fantastic. We wouldn’t have seen Mumbai any other way. This company is simply fantastic, we came away from Mumbai feeling like we had got under the surface . Thank you so much!

A girls holiday to India
Me and my two friends had an amazing time on the tour with Nikesh. He spoke perfect English. He was really well informed as he had grew up there. He had a really good knowledge of Mumbai and was able to give us lots of tips for our trip (which were really useful). The price was extremely reasonable and I would 100 percent recommend him to anyone that wants to take a tour in Mumbai. His company is a local small company that he has set up himself so at the same time we were helping a small local business thrive.
Response from the operator: Namaste, Thank you so much for a excellent review, We really appreciate you for taking time to write review and we are glad to hear that you had good experience with our company. We are always happy to organise memorable experience for you when you are in mumbai.

One of the best and most authentic experiences of my life!
When we thought of doing a tour in Dharavi, we were unsure at first, wondering if it was ethical to visit a slum. But we decided to go ahead and followed Nick who knew this world very well. The entire time, we felt very safe, welcomed and cared for. We had a great time with Nick, who rapidly became a friend, and we discovered the incredible world of Dharavi. We danced, and ate and had a great time with the locals, and even got invited to a wedding! It was truly an amazing experience, and I would recommend any of the other tours with this team, because they make you feel comfortable and know how to show you the unique sides of Mumbai, while respecting the local culture. Don't miss out!
Response from the operator: Namaste Camille, Thank you so much for your kind words, we are happy that you had a great time with my team, hope to see you again in future.

Mr
Was a little apprehensive booking the Dharvi tour but as soon as I met Nick I was instantly reassured. His knowledge of the area is outstanding and the tour was great. A very likeable young man. Highly recommend doing this tour as it will stay with you for a long time.

Why this scores 56
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Dharavi Slumdog Millionaire Tour: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Mumbai.
How much does Dharavi Slumdog Millionaire Tour cost?
+
Prices start at $3500 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Mumbai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Dharavi Slumdog Millionaire Tour take?
+
Plan for about 3 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Mumbai is not rushed.
Is Dharavi Slumdog Millionaire Tour worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 56 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 6 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Mumbai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Dharavi Slumdog Millionaire Tour?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Dharavi Slumdog Millionaire Tour suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 3-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Dharavi Slumdog Millionaire Tour?
+
Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Mumbai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Mumbai and add a light layer if any part of the 3-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Dharavi Slumdog Millionaire Tour start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Mumbai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Mumbai?
+
On Outty we rank every Mumbai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Elephanta Caves & Island Guided Private Tour, Dharavi Slum Tour, Mumbai: Dharavi Slum & Dhobi Ghat Laundry Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Mumbai?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Mumbai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
