Spectacular

I would highly recommend this tour if you have an extra day in Luxor. Both temples are spectacular and we virtually had them to ourselves (this was August). Baghat, our guide, provided excellent explanations of everything we saw and really transmitted his love of Egyptian history. The vehicle was modern and comfortable, and the driver did a great job too.

Worth Your Time

Mr. Khaled did an amazing job driving me to both temples. He arrived at my hotel on time and with some breakfast for me. The temples themselves were amazing and I was the only visitor at both temples which made it extra special.

Dendara Trip

An amazing day trip to Dendara Temple Complex. Dr Michael was a great guide, with extensive knowledge and helped us understand and translate hieroglyphics. He showed us all the important bits of the temple and some more unique sites too. Definitely recommend.

No Show - Dishonest Scam

This is a completely dishonest company and under no circumstances should you travel with them. We agreed with the company that we would leave for the trip at 9:30 instead of the advertised 6, as that is unnecessarily early. The process of agreeing this was extremely difficult, as the company came up with many reasons to go at the earlier time, rather than listening to what we actually wanted. Even though we eventually agreed to leave at 9:30, when it came to travel, I was awoken by the hotel at 6 to tell me the driver had arrived. I told them to tell the driver we had agreed on 9:30. When we went to pick up the car at 9:30, there was no one there. We repeatedly attempted to call and text the company for the next hour, and though they viewed the messages they have yet to respond. We then filed for a refund, which they attempted to refuse on the grounds that the trip had been completed as planned (despite the fact they didn’t turn up at the agreed time). Thankfully TripAdvisor/Viator have overruled this and processed the refund. Overall, our worst experience in Egypt. This is a scam, and you should not travel with them.

Unforgettable trip to Dendara

We had a lovely day with Michael and his driver Hussein. The temples we visited were exquisite and Michael's huge knowledge and passion for the history made our trip very special. We stopped for lunch at the Restaurant Paris near the colossi of Memnon, where we ate beautiful traditional Egyptian food. Everything about the day was good. We would wholeheartedly recommend.

Dendara and Abydos Temples Day Tour from Luxor: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Luxor.

How much does Dendara and Abydos Temples Day Tour from Luxor cost?

+

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Luxor usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Dendara and Abydos Temples Day Tour from Luxor take?

+

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Luxor is not rushed.

Is Dendara and Abydos Temples Day Tour from Luxor worth it?

+

It holds an Outty Ranking of 75 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 168 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Luxor, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Dendara and Abydos Temples Day Tour from Luxor?

+

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Dendara and Abydos Temples Day Tour from Luxor suitable for kids and families?

+

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Dendara and Abydos Temples Day Tour from Luxor?

+

Around 59 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Luxor can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

+

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Luxor and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Dendara and Abydos Temples Day Tour from Luxor start and how do I get there?

+

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Luxor within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Luxor?

+

On Outty we rank every Luxor experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Full Day Tour of Luxor West Bank Temples and Tombs (Private), Luxury Sunrise Balloon Ride in Luxor with Hotel Pickup, Luxor Day Tour: Valley of Kings & Queens & Hatchepsut Temples. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Luxor?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Luxor?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
