    Textiles and Indian embroidery techniques

RK was a great guide and driver on this textile tour. I was asked beforehand what I specifically wanted to see so was able to look at kantha embroidery with it's different patterns and zardozi embroidery, so beautiful. Learned about sozini technique too then shopped in Chandni chowk for sparkly trimmings that a girl always needs Great to sample various street foods too

    Amazing exploration of textile artisans

We had a special introduction to Delhi with a wonderful textile tour with Shehla. She tailored our tour to our interests Saw a demonstration on the making of traditional carpets whilst enjoying several cups of Masala tea. Saw so many exquisite fabrics, taking home some scarves and pillow cases. Enjoyed a crazy tuk tuk ride through the alleyways of the old Delhi markets, filled with stalls for wedding bling, shoes and more and stopping for some yummy street food.

Response from the operator: Thank you, Helen! We’re thrilled you enjoyed the Delhi Textile & Handicraft Tour: Artisan Workshops Experience. Shehla loved tailoring the tour for you, from the carpet-making demo and masala tea to exploring Old Delhi’s vibrant markets. We’re happy you found beautiful textiles to take home. We hope to welcome you back soon!

If you're looking for a guide in Delhi, I definitely recommend them!

Shelia and Mr. Khan were knowledgeable & friendly! We received an itinerary customized to our desires. Pickups were close and always on time. We felt safe the entire time. Car air-conditioning was great and much-needed! For guided shopping, Shelia was fabulous! She knew all the good places (including restaurants) and this permitted effective use of time and finding treasures! In sightseeing, both guides were a wealth of information and perspective. Old Delhi on a cycle-rickshaw was so much fun!

Response from the operator: Thank you so much, Lara! We’re delighted that you enjoyed the Delhi Textile & Handicraft Tour: Artisan Workshops Experience. Shehla and Mr. Khan loved customizing the itinerary for you, and we’re glad you felt safe, comfortable, and well taken care of throughout. It’s wonderful to hear that the guided shopping, local food stops, and Old Delhi cycle-rickshaw ride made the day memorable. We truly appreciate your recommendation and hope to welcome you back to India for more unique cultural experiences!

Delhi Textile & Handicraft Tour: Artisan Workshops Experience: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for New Delhi.

How much does Delhi Textile & Handicraft Tour: Artisan Workshops Experience cost?

    +

Prices start at $25 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in New Delhi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Delhi Textile & Handicraft Tour: Artisan Workshops Experience take?

    +

Plan for about 8 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in New Delhi is not rushed.

Is Delhi Textile & Handicraft Tour: Artisan Workshops Experience worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 68 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 7 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in New Delhi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Delhi Textile & Handicraft Tour: Artisan Workshops Experience?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Delhi Textile & Handicraft Tour: Artisan Workshops Experience suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 8-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Delhi Textile & Handicraft Tour: Artisan Workshops Experience?

    +

Around 2 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in New Delhi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in New Delhi and add a light layer if any part of the 8-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Delhi Textile & Handicraft Tour: Artisan Workshops Experience start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central New Delhi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in New Delhi?

    +

On Outty we rank every New Delhi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Taj Mahal & Agra Private Tour By AC Car From Delhi with 5* Meal, Taj Mahal & Agra Fort Private Day Trip From Delhi with 5* Lunch, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort and Baby Taj Day Tour from Delhi by Car. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit New Delhi?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in New Delhi?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
