The bike tour on the Death Road was impressive. We started a bit scared because of the curves and very dangerous road. We have satisfactorily survived the extreme adventure!

Poor Communication of Cancellation
I can’t comment on the tour because the tour was cancelled due to the road being closed. I was not notified of the cancellation until I called the company on the day of the tour after my pickup did not show up. Better communication is needed.
Response from the operator: Hello dear traveler, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We sincerely regret the inconvenience caused by the last-minute cancellation of your tour. Unfortunately, due to road closures and safety concerns during the rainy season, it was not possible to operate the trip safely that day. As a responsible local operator, the well-being of our travelers always comes first, and we never take risks when conditions could compromise safety. That said, we truly understand your frustration about not being notified earlier. We’re currently reviewing our communication procedures to ensure faster and clearer updates in similar situations. We truly appreciate your understanding and your constructive comments — they help us continue improving. Should you wish to discuss this matter further, please don’t hesitate to contact us directly at info@happygringotours.com . Warm regards, Happy Gringo Tours Team

Good tour on the road of death with Jhon
Excellent tour to the road of death before taking the Inca trek with Happy Gringo Tours agency. Our excursion was well planned from the moment we started at the hotel until the return to the city of Cusco. Breakfast and lunch were very delicious. The tour guide was very prepared and gave us his support during the tour. The spectacular views, the 24 dangerous curves were very fun but very dangerous, the Apurimac canyon very deep and the bike I had was in good condition. We recommend this route of death to all who visit Machu Picchu in Peru.
Response from the operator: Hello dear 484jes_ Thank you for taking the time to share your wonderful experience with our Death Road Peru Mountain Bike Tour! We are thrilled to hear that you had such an enjoyable adventure before embarking on the Inca Trail with Happy Gringo Tours. It is great to know that you appreciated the careful planning of the excursion, from hotel pickup to your return to Cusco, as well as the delicious breakfast and lunch provided. Our team takes pride in ensuring that every detail is attended to for our guests’ comfort and enjoyment. We are especially glad that you felt well-supported by our guide throughout the tour and that the bike met your expectations for safety and performance. The breathtaking views, thrilling curves, and the incredible depth of the Apurímac Canyon truly make this a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Thank you for recommending the route to fellow travelers. We hope to welcome you back to Peru for more adventures in the future! Warm regards, Happy Gringo Tours Team

Death Road Peru, Mountain Bike Tour on the Most Dangerous Road: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Cusco.
How much does Death Road Peru, Mountain Bike Tour on the Most Dangerous Road cost?
+
Prices start at $165 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Cusco usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Death Road Peru, Mountain Bike Tour on the Most Dangerous Road take?
+
Plan for about 37.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Cusco is not rushed.
Is Death Road Peru, Mountain Bike Tour on the Most Dangerous Road worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 69 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 11 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Cusco, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Death Road Peru, Mountain Bike Tour on the Most Dangerous Road?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Death Road Peru, Mountain Bike Tour on the Most Dangerous Road suitable for kids and families?
+
The operator sets a minimum age of 6. Older children generally do well here, and families should factor in the 37.5-hour running time when deciding.
How far in advance should I book Death Road Peru, Mountain Bike Tour on the Most Dangerous Road?
+
Around 4 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Cusco can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Cusco and add a light layer if any part of the 37.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Death Road Peru, Mountain Bike Tour on the Most Dangerous Road start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Cusco within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Cusco?
+
On Outty we rank every Cusco experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Sacred Valley Full Day Tour, Peruvian Cooking Class Cocktails and Market Tour in Cusco, Cusco: Rainbow Mountain & Red Valley Premium Day Trip with Meals. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Cusco?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Cusco?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
