    Great country side tour

Miguel was extremely knowledgeable about the land. As someone who is not a native, he made it a priority to educate himself about Amsterdam and surrounding communities. His dedication and passion for NL creates an attentive environment, making the tour a great one. Have any question, better call Miguel.

    Underwhelming Day

We started off being surprised when we saw a double-decker bus instead of a mini bus. This company notes small group tours on their homepage and we did not know that it did not apply to this tour. We were also disappointed when we found that a tour of the windmill was not included in the price. There were several other groups going into the windmill as part of their tour but we were expected to pay our own way. Overall, we found the sites we saw underwhelming. The silver lining to all of this was our guide. He was very informative and personable so we did learn a lot about the Netherlands during the day.

    OK but expect very touristy

Guide Pia was very informative but the locations themselves were a little dissapointing....VERY tourist focused, but at least early start time had us 1st bus in of many buses. Zaanse was a handful of old windmills rebuilt along trails but couldnt get inside and many topical buildings/shops were closed, Edam was fun demo of cheese & clog making with samples and decent prices to buy things, Marken was very small village, walked thru and back to bus.

    +

Prices start at $15 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Amsterdam usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Day Trip to Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam and Marken from Amsterdam take?

Is Day Trip to Zaanse Schans, Edam, Volendam and Marken from Amsterdam worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 88 out of 100, which we label "Exceptional". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.7/5 across 6,295 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable most popular in Amsterdam, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

    +

Around 2,203 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Amsterdam and add a light layer if any part of the 6.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Amsterdam?

    +

On Outty we rank every Amsterdam experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Amsterdam Canal Cruise with Local Guide and Small Group, Guided Bike Tour of Amsterdam's Highlights & Hidden Gems, Amsterdam: Luxury Canal Cruise including Cocktails & Snacks. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Amsterdam?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Amsterdam?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
