    About this experience

Relax during the trip and enjoy the scenery while your guide takes care of the driving. Disembark in Kumrovec, an historic village that has been turned into an open-air museum of antique homes, known as hize, from the 19th After pickup from your hotel in Zagreb, you'll make the trip to Kumrovec, a preserved, open air museum village of 19th and 20th century homes. Visit the birthplace of Josip Broz Tito and learn about his rise to fame and the history of communist Yugoslavia. You'll also see his elementary school, arboretum where he hosted public figures, and a large bronze statue in his honor. Antique homes, called hize, represent Croatia's history. Each house tells a story of peasant life and craft, such as pottery, wheelwrights, blacksmithing, and toy making, which is a protected cultural heritage. After visiting Kumrovec, only in May, we are taking you on the magical ROSE trail where you can experience the scents of the fields of damask roses and buy beautiful rose products!

    Wonderful tour

Had a really nice day trip. Kumrovec is a beautiful little village with lots of history and a very relaxing atmosphere. Everything was well organized and the guide was friendly. Definitely worth visiting if you want to see something different near Zagreb.

Response from the operator: Thanks for the kind words. We can only agree with you!

    Unforgetable experience

The ethnic town/museum is spectacular: beautiful (nature and buildings) and perfectly preserved. I wanted to go because I am especially interested in Tito's history, but the museum is super interesting even if his house was not there, because it perfectly shows what life was like for Croatian villagers in the 19th century (mainly, but also 20th). The guide too, super nice; and after the visit to the ethnic village, he took me (I was alone) to an event in which different wine producers in the area presented their wines and competed for which was the best. There I was able to drink everything I wanted, eat some local food and listen to live music. Everything delicious, everything beautiful. I recommend 100%.

Response from the operator: Dear Leonor, Thank you for your kind words. But more than anything, I am so glad that you truly enjoyed the rich history of this region and got to know the life of the simple little people and peasants of this region, as well as their customs and the construction of unique wooden houses and dwellings, which are here today a museum in situ. You have impressed us with your knowledge of the history of the entire Balkans, and I wish you many more beautiful trips and research and learning about our rich cultural and historical heritage. Come visit us again! Sanja

    +

Is Day trip to the most beautiful ETHNO VILLAGE KUMROVEC worth it?

    +

That score blends traveler sentiment (5/5 across 2 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Zagreb, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

How far in advance should I book Day trip to the most beautiful ETHNO VILLAGE KUMROVEC?

    +

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Zagreb can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Zagreb and add a light layer if any part of the 4.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

What are the best things to do in Zagreb?

    +

On Outty we rank every Zagreb experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Communism & Croatian Homeland War Tour, Zagreb Highlights: Old Town, WWII tunnels, Funicular & Tastings, Old Zagreb Private Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Zagreb?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Zagreb?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
