Anti American
We did a 3 day land tour in Honolulu and our driver was Kimokeo. He was very knowledgeable and informative regarding the island. The problem here with this driver was his resentment towards the United States with making Hawaii the 50th State. He made it a point to state how the US stole the island from the people of Hawaii. Took their language and religion from his people and brought in disease. All 45 people on board his bus were Americans and we really didn’t need to hear his personal feelings regarding the USA. Ironically he made sure to point out the tip policy take our American Dollar but spit on our flag. I will never understand why a tour guide be so resentful. Never again use the tour bus company again.
Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad to hear you found Kimokeo knowledgeable and informative during your visit. Our tours include Hawaii's history, culture, and local perspectives as part of the educational experience we provide to guests. We appreciate your comments and will share them with our management team as we continue to ensure our tours remain informative, respectful, and welcoming to all visitors. Mahalo.

Don’t bother with this overpriced tour!
We were at the Honolulu airport at 5:25 am for a 6:25 am flight. Arrived in Lihu at 6:50am. We sat outside the baggage claim for an hour, until 8:05am when the tour shuttle finally arrived. There was some confusion as to who we were. They said on the phone that some people were late this morning at the hotel in Kauai, so that’s why we had to wait so long. The people who were late were indifferent to inconveniencing us. The tour guide made us feel like we were the ones out of the way that they had to pick us up at the airport. We drove around on the shuttle all morning stopping at a waterfall, chocolate store for tasting, 35 minutes to look from a distance at a lighthouse in Kīlauea, and lunch in Hanalei for an hour. All in all I feel this is something that we could have easily done on our own with a rental car much cheaper. The tour bus showed moments from movies that were filmed in the area. On the way back to the drop offs, the tour guide told us people would be dropped off first at the hotels. Even though our flight check in time was quickly and nervously approaching! We made it to the TSA check in exactly 30 minutes prior to takeoff. That’s too close for comfort! We felt very stressed about that! Again, the tour guide really didn’t offer any apology, just a thank you really like it was no big deal. But the big deal was this trip costing $1,156 for my wife and I to have a day trip from Oahu to Kauai just to see a couple of sites. We totally would have done it on our own if we had known the trip agenda beforehand and how rushed it would be.
Response from the operator: Thanks for sharing your experience, Brian. Waiting that long at the airport and feeling rushed later in the day would frustrate anyone. We’re glad you enjoyed a few of the stops, and we appreciate your honest feedback on the timing and overall flow of the tour.

Why this scores 50
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Day Trip from Oahu to Kauai: Highlights & Movie Sites: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Kauai.
How much does Day Trip from Oahu to Kauai: Highlights & Movie Sites cost?
+
Prices start at $720 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Kauai usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Day Trip from Oahu to Kauai: Highlights & Movie Sites take?
+
Plan for about 16 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Kauai is not rushed.
Is Day Trip from Oahu to Kauai: Highlights & Movie Sites worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 50 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.7/5 across 55 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Kauai, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Day Trip from Oahu to Kauai: Highlights & Movie Sites?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Day Trip from Oahu to Kauai: Highlights & Movie Sites suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 16-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Day Trip from Oahu to Kauai: Highlights & Movie Sites?
+
Around 19 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Kauai can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Kauai and add a light layer if any part of the 16-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Day Trip from Oahu to Kauai: Highlights & Movie Sites start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Kauai within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Kauai?
+
Kauai sells Na Pali Coast boat and helicopter tours, Waimea Canyon drives, tubing through old plantation ditches and Hanalei kayak trips. Ocean conditions shut down the north shore boat runs in winter, so cancellation terms matter. On Outty we rank every Kauai experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Koloa Zipline in Kauai, Kauai: NaPali Boat Tour on the Amelia K, Kauai: Secret Falls Kayak and Hike. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Kauai?
+
April to June and September to October, with calmest seas in summer. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Kauai?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
