Maybe a one off experience

Mine was a simple transfer to Alexandria from Cairo. The operations team in the background was good in coordinating my time. Super helpful!! :) But I think where the issue is, is with the driver... the driver was trying to rip me off or try to get more money from me. Several instances he tried to get me to pay more... Today was a simple transfer pick up from hotel in Cairo, then to eat at a restaurant in Alexandria, and then a drop off in hotel in Alexandria. I was trying to be nice to the driver, i even offered him to eat with me, at my expense... We parked at the car park area beside the restaurant, after paying for a generous meal that I was happy to share and buy him food ...paying about 3500egp for lunch for the both of us... I think he realized I had money to pay... He then Asked me for car parking fee to pay the watcher... he asked me to give him 200 EGP for the parking watcher... which i know this is too much.. usually 10-50egp is sufficient.. I gave the driver 100egp instead. I see him pocketing the cash as he walked to the watcher, and giving another amount from his other hand... Then when he dropped me off the hotel here in alexandria... he tried to get me to pay him another 200EGP for entrance fee into the hotel lobby... I know that is not true, there is no fee...I ignored it... But at the end I still tipped him 400egp.... It wouldve been more, but after seeing what he was trying to do, I lowered my tip... But he was definitely trying to take advantage of me...driver could've been more honest...unfortunate, but it happens. Driver could've been more grateful and honest and professional.

The tour was ok. However...

The tour was ok. However the library was closed. This was not disclosed at the time of booking the tour. The citadel was busy so we didn’t even get to drive close to it and only saw it from far. The full itinerary of the tour was not available which was disappointing.

Good day trip to be done in earlier part of holiday not last

This was done on last day of our week long trip. Hence we were possibly a bit tired and not as focussed previous days. Nevertheless drive was safe thanks to Mr Agamy and Tour guide Ahmed Jackson both through Emo tours. Time management was perfect. Picked up at suitable time and agreed to drop at airport after day trip to catch our flight late night which was very helpful. The Citadel view from top were great Museums and monuments in between were very informative. Lunch at Sea food restaurant was very good

How far in advance should I book Day Tour to Alexandria from Cairo?

+

Around 1 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Giza can sell out a month out. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Giza?

+

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Giza?

+

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

+

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
