Pompeii and Herculaneum Brought to Life
Despite the heat and humidity, this experience was about as close to perfect as it gets. Our driver, Francesco, was calm, safe and extremely professional. He helped us in and out, the car was always ready when we needed it, and everything felt effortless. We even had time for a relaxed, unrushed lunch in Pompeii before continuing to Herculaneum. Both sites are massive, but our guide, Vincenzo Paduano, somehow made them feel intimate. In Pompeii, he taught us how Romans actually lived in a large city, from public buildings and businesses to exercise, bathing, food and everyday routines. It genuinely felt like stepping into the past. Herculaneum was different. There, we felt almost like guests inside the homes of Roman nobility. Across both sites, Vincenzo helped us see the extraordinary luxury and sophistication of life 2,000 years ago, while never losing sight of the horror of their final moments. Vincenzo’s depth of knowledge was remarkable. He was also incredibly patient and calm, including waiting for me to take what probably felt like 1,000 photographs. There is far more to both sites than anyone can see in one day, and we would absolutely do this again. If you book this experience, ask for Francesco as your driver and Vincenzo Paduano as your guide. We would request both of them again without hesitation.

Unforgettable Step into the Past
Pasquale was our expert driver and Vincenzo was our knowledgeable guide. Pasquale provided a comfortable and safe riding experience and picked us up from and dropped us off right to our door. He provided water bottles and pointed out points of interest during our drive. He even let us stop for a scenic photo overlooking sorrento on the way back. Vincenzo provided an amazing guided tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum. He catered the tour to our interests and answered all of our questions along the way. He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and even made sure we didnt miss out on a spectacular historical preservation that had been closed by speaking with the workers to grant us a special passage to take a quick photo anyway. This was a once in a lifetime experience where we truly felt we were stepping into the past. I highly recommend this to everyone!
Response from the operator: Dear Traveler, Thank you so much for this incredible and highly recommended review! We are absolutely thrilled to hear that your private tour of Pompeii and Herculaneum felt like a once-in-a-lifetime experience where you truly stepped back into the past. It is wonderful to hear how well Pasquale and Vincenzo took care of you from start to finish. Pasquale truly exemplifies our commitment to seamless, comfortable service with his convenient door-to-door care, refreshing water, and that wonderful spontaneous stop to capture a scenic photo overlooking Sorrento. Meanwhile, Vincenzo went above and beyond as your guide. Catering the history to your personal interests is exactly what we aim for, but his initiative in speaking with the onsite workers to grant you special passage for that exclusive photo is a testament to his passion for history. We will be sure to share your glowing praise with both Pasquale and Vincenzo. Thank you for choosing us for such a memorable day, and we hope to welcome you back for more adventures in the future! Warm regards

Great tour company and a highly recommended tour
This was probably one of my favorite tours and our guide was excellent. He was super knowledgeable and wanted to make sure we understood all of the rich history of the area. We really had a great time and the guide and driver were fantastic- I would highly recommend. They tailored our tour for our needs.

Disorganized and acted in bad faith
Although the guide (Luigi) seems knowledgeable, we missed a lot of the commentaries because the group was too large and we got frequently cut off. Apparently we were meant to be in another group…the organizers never accepted responsibility for this mix up. It would have been so easy to introduce us to our guide. They were v self defensive. They did not accept our comment that it was an unsatisfactory experience because they acted according to the guidelines issued (presumably by the local entity that manages the archeological sites). Their attitude was arrogant. If they had said ‘sorry your experience was not great’…I would not be writing this one star review!
