Great tour thank you Mr Loi
Mr Loi was a great tour guide, we loved all the activities for the day! The boat is a big part (2.5hrs) and quite long (I feel for the Vietnamese women paddling all that time) - it was very hot 38degrees but felt like 48! Some boats have back rests and others don’t!! Thankyou mr Loi for making the day a fun experience 🫶🏻

A Day Worth Every Penny
This excursion is absolutely worth every penny—you truly get great value, and your eyes will be amazed. The day starts gently with visits to temples and a short bike ride. The buffet lunch is excellent. The afternoon is where it really shines! The boat excursion offers breathtaking scenery, and the mountains at sunset bring the day to a perfect close. Special thanks to Anna for her contagious energy and enthusiasm—she made the experience even more enjoyable.

Mostly good except for the shopping hijack and discomfort
The 7:40 am hotel pick up was on time. Unfortunately the only seats left on the “limousine” were the raised back row. The seats were unadjustable with no rear suspension. We managed to fish out seatbelts because if the driver stopped suddenly we would have flown over the other passengers. At the midway restroom stop, we were essentially forced to sit through a sales pitch on bamboo products and then walk through many aisles before exiting the store. We wasted 30 minutes here that should have been spent on the hike. There was no time to fight the crowds to the mountain top pagodas. Our guide’s English was poor and he always rushed ahead of everyone without much explanation. The buffet lunch was fine. The 30-minute bike ride was on unpaved, very bumpy roads without much to see. We were told that we had purchased a different riverboat ride than the other 10 tourists. We paid an extra VND100,000 cash to stay together. The boat ride was scenic with passage through three low caves. At two hours, it was a bit long, leaving us feeling cramped sitting on the hard bench. The ride back to Hanoi was long on that bumpy back seat with my head bouncing at the wrong height and the seat leaned way back. We got back to our hotel just after 7 pm, making for a long day. We’re glad we got to see Ninh Binh but it wasn’t topnotch.

Avoid!!!!
Me and my husband booked a full day trip via an agency, when booking through the agency and paying the deposit we were advised that the tour guide who works at this rubbish establishment would message the night before to reconfirm details; pick up point, times, etc. However no message was ever received and although we felt hesitant that we may have been scammed we had faith to ensure we would be at the pick up location at exactly the agreed time confirmed by the agent. Now comes the day of our trip and we get a call from the guide 20 minutes before our agreed meet up time and location. I dont have his name as he was very careful to ensure this was never shared the whole trip and was in a nutshell scolded in front of other tourists joining our trip stating that everyone is waiting for us, why are we late and that he will leave without us. He then proceeded to ask us to come to a new meet up point further away than originally planned for which I immediately highlighted this. Upon arrival I was again scolded for apparently not sharing my number and it began to be a blame game with 0 accountability taken by the operator and the guide who neither knew how to do their job and were persistent on blaming the agency. It was clear the agency had shared all relevant details but this company and their guides lack common sense to accept their own failings. The whole trip was awkward, uncomfortable and to be honest it started so bad I did not want to be there. The joke of it all was that he even asked for tips after such a horrible experience knowing full well they ruined our trip which we paid a premium price for. He also shared feedback forms with other people except us, again treating us differently. They first tried to blame me for being tired for all their wrongdoing and then proceeded to offer a free drink at the paid for buffet in which case after refusing to pay the remaining of the trip they finally accepted to take off 500k vnd from the total. Keeping in mind they only spoke to me after I had refused to pay otherwise they would have no incentive to correct their errors as prior to this they were ignoring me. Please spend your hard earned money elsewhere with another well established and respected operator and tour guide. I informed the agency I had booked with who reassured they will no longer work with this operator and tour guide going forward. I hope these people learn something from today's experience and treat future travellers better.

Nice experience!
Crowdy place. But well organized tour and guide! We've enjoyed a lot. Especially the boat trip was a lot of fun.

Day Tour Ninh Binh from HaNoi with Tam Coc /Trang An $ Mua Cave: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Hanoi.
How much does Day Tour Ninh Binh from HaNoi with Tam Coc /Trang An $ Mua Cave cost?
+
Prices start at $50 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Hanoi usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Day Tour Ninh Binh from HaNoi with Tam Coc /Trang An $ Mua Cave take?
+
Plan for about 10 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Hanoi is not rushed.
Is Day Tour Ninh Binh from HaNoi with Tam Coc /Trang An $ Mua Cave worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 78 out of 100, which we label "Strongly Recommended". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.9/5 across 89 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Hanoi, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Day Tour Ninh Binh from HaNoi with Tam Coc /Trang An $ Mua Cave?
+
Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.
Is Day Tour Ninh Binh from HaNoi with Tam Coc /Trang An $ Mua Cave suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 10-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Day Tour Ninh Binh from HaNoi with Tam Coc /Trang An $ Mua Cave?
+
Around 31 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Hanoi can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Hanoi and add a light layer if any part of the 10-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Day Tour Ninh Binh from HaNoi with Tam Coc /Trang An $ Mua Cave start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Hanoi within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Hanoi?
+
On Outty we rank every Hanoi experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Ninh Binh Day Trip from Hanoi with Tam Coc or Trang An & Mua Cave, Ha Giang Loop Tour 4 Days 3 Nights with Ha Giang Vision Tour, Halong Bay Day Tour With Titop Island, Cave, Kayak & Lunch. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Hanoi?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Hanoi?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
