We will begin our adventure by entering a local market in the Amazon. This colorful market is a true treasure of the region, where locals trade a variety of exotic fruits and tropical fruits rarely found in other parts of the world. There you will have the choice of two exciting culinary experiences. In one option, you can try chontacuros, appreciated by locals for being rich in protein and relief from some diseases. Or opt for the tropical fruit option like guaba.

Disappointing mishap
OK so this is not a review of this specific tour but I had to leave this feedback. Unfortunately, we booked this private tour through Wonderful Equador (knowing we were paying more but worth it) but ended up on a full bus tour. We notified the tour company when we were put on a bus tour and they did refund our money but at that point we had no choice but to pay and go on the large group bus tour. Was very disappointed in missing out on a private tour although they were some special highlights of a very long tour day with a very large group.
Response from the operator: Dear Sheryl Brooks, Alexis Brooks At Wonderful Ecuador, we would like to offer our sincere apologies for the misunderstanding with your booking and for any frustration this caused during your trip.🙏🏻 We completely understand your disappointment, as our priority is always to deliver the exact quality and service our guests expect. We would like to confirm that a full refund was processed directly through the platform. We truly appreciate you sharing your feedback and highlighting the positive moments of your day. We take your comments very seriously and will use them to correct these logistics issues so this does not happen again. Thank you for your time and understanding. Warm regards, The Wonderful Ecuador Team

An Amazing Adventure!
My husband & I took a tour during our honeymoon. Delfin was a fantastic guide, I can’t say enough good things about our trip. We did an overnight in the rainforest, the hike was a good doable pace for anyone uphill during which he pointed out plants & insects while explaining their lifestyle or medicinal purposes. The waterfall was beautiful & just one stop on the amazing adventure! The food was delicious & ample, my partner & I had a hard time finishing every plate because there was so much delicious food. We also stopped by viewpoints & a chocolate farm & got to see the process, had an unexpectedly comfortable overnight, saw wild monkeys, an indigenous community with beautiful crafts for sale, & a canoe ride down a gorgeous river. Delfin made the trip fun & memorable, pointing out many insects during a night hike. He was fun & considerate & kind, we felt lucky we had him as our guide. Wonderful Ecuador tours worked with us & our schedule to make it happen, after shopping many similar excursion companies we felt lucky to land with this one! We definitely both recommend booking through them, ask for Delfin!
Response from the operator: Hello, hello. Congratulations on your honeymoon! Thank you very much for your comment. We are glad to hear that your tour with us was such a special and memorable experience. Delfín is an exceptional guide, and we are happy to know that he provided you with such a fun and enriching experience. We are honored that you chose our company. Thank you for your recommendation. We hope to see you on your next trip. Best regards, Wonderful Ecuador 🙏

Great trip - great experience
Defin and Angel were both SO AMAZING. Such a great and memorable trip - we got home last night and are still talking about all of the great things we experienced along the way. Our guide was funny and spoke English well, teaching us so much about the rainforest and catching things we would have missed with his trained eye. 11/10 - would book this trip again. We shopped a lot of tours but these guys worked with us on every step of the adventure and we're so kind and thoughtful along the way. Could tell you more about it but you should book with Wonderful ecuador and see for yourself!
Response from the operator: Hello, hello! Thank you very much for your incredible review! We are glad to hear that your trip with us was unforgettable and that our guides, Delfín and Ángel, were amazing. We are happy to have been able to share our passion for the rainforest and Ecuador with you. We appreciate your trust in us and are glad to know that we exceeded your expectations. Until next time. Best regards, Wonderful Ecuador

Amazing Amazon Experience
This all day excursion with great homemade lunch was worth every penny. The guides were fantastic and so knowledgeable, we got to experience all the wonders of the Amazon from sight seeing, hiking, canoeing, culture learning, just a full day of fun and adventure. ❤️

And that our guides transmitted all their knowledge to you. We are looking forward to your next adventure. Thank you for trusting our company. Best regards, Wonderful Ecuador.

A fun taste of the Amazon!
A really fun day giving us the taste of the Amazon rainforest only 1.5 hours out of Quito. The hike through the rainforest and swim in the waterfall was made by our awesome guide Delfin who was so knowledgeable and introduced us to so many native plants and insects. We had a beautiful lunch at a local restaurant and got to toast and grind our own 100% cacao. Only tip is to wear long arms and legs and deet insect repellent as the mosquitos and no-see-ums were fierce!
Response from the operator: Hello, my dear friend! Your review means a lot to us.☺️ We are delighted to read about your amazing experience, thank you for trusting our services and don't hesitate to come back!

Why this scores 60
The Outty Ranking is a weighted composite. Here is how this experience performed on each component.
Day tour in the Puyopungo Amazon Rainforest: questions travelers ask
Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Baños.
How much does Day tour in the Puyopungo Amazon Rainforest cost?
+
Prices start at $80 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Baños usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.
How long does Day tour in the Puyopungo Amazon Rainforest take?
+
Plan for about 11 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Baños is not rushed.
Is Day tour in the Puyopungo Amazon Rainforest worth it?
+
It holds an Outty Ranking of 60 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.8/5 across 8 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable food & drink in Baños, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.
Can I cancel or reschedule Day tour in the Puyopungo Amazon Rainforest?
+
No. This experience is sold on a non-refundable basis, so only book a date you are confident about. Similar experiences in the city do offer free cancellation if flexibility matters more than price.
Is Day tour in the Puyopungo Amazon Rainforest suitable for kids and families?
+
Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 11-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.
How far in advance should I book Day tour in the Puyopungo Amazon Rainforest?
+
Around 3 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Baños can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.
What should I bring or wear?
+
Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Baños and add a light layer if any part of the 11-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.
Where does Day tour in the Puyopungo Amazon Rainforest start and how do I get there?
+
The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Baños within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.
What are the best things to do in Baños?
+
On Outty we rank every Baños experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Rafting Tour, Full Day Baths, The Best Extreme Canyoning -Cashaurco in -Banos Ecuador. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.
When is the best time to visit Baños?
+
Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.
How many days do you need in Baños?
+
Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.
Do I book through Outty or through the operator?
+
Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
