Day Tour of Chania, Lake Kournas and Rethymno
This was a private day tour from Heraklion to Chania, Rethymno and Lake Kournas. 2 couples in a very comfortable van (with AC) with a knowledgeable and professional guide and driver. Because it was a private tour, we got to pick what we did in each location so our tour varied from the norm. I suspect that the normal tour would have been even better but it was still pretty great. We started out at the scenic Lake Kournas, then went to the Maritime Museum in Chania and had a nice lunch on the waterfront there. We finished in Rethymno looking at the local craft offerings and enjoying the best Baklova ever. It was made at a place that is the oldest of its type in Crete. Our tour operator was Marinos of Unique Crete VIP tours. I would recommend this tour and I think it would be great even in a large bus format. Worth doing whether private or on a bus.
