    The tour was very lovely,...

The tour was very lovely, and our tour guide Nicholas was excellent. We booked the all-day tour including lunch. With lunch taking an hour and a half it left little time to explore sites on the plantation we would have liked to go back and see. We would highly recommend this tour to others.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your kind review. I am glad to hear you enjoyed your visit to Middleton Place and that the tour and lunch made for a lovely day. It was a pleasure having you on the tour, and I truly appreciate your recommendation. I also appreciate your helpful feedback regarding timing. We understand that with so much to see at Middleton Place, some guests would enjoy even more time to explore the grounds and revisit favorite areas. Your comments are valuable as we continue refining the experience. Thank you again for choosing Chicora Tours. We hope to welcome you back on another tour in the future. Warm regards, Nick Owner, Chicora Tours

    We loved the Middleton...

We loved the Middleton plantation with Chicora tours. Our driver ,Darian was there early to greet us. She was friendly, knowledgeable and shared history of Savannah while driving. The Middleton gardens were beautiful. Lunch there was fantastic. The staff was very helpful and did a great job telling us the history of the plantation.

Response from the operator: Thank you so much for your wonderful review. I am glad to hear you loved your visit to Middleton Place with Chicora Tours and that Darian helped make the day so enjoyable. She will be happy to know her friendliness and knowledge added to your experience. It is also great to hear that you enjoyed the beautiful gardens, the lunch, and the historical presentations from the staff at Middleton Place. It sounds like a memorable day all around. We truly appreciate you choosing Chicora Tours and hope to welcome you back on another tour in the future. Warm regards, Nick Owner, Chicora Tours

    The time allotted for the...

The time allotted for the tour could have been longer. Also, the facility tour guides varied as to the knowledge they had of the facility. When we visited the house was under repair, so not open for our tour. The facility grounds were nice for the time of the year we visited (late march).

Response from the operator: Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I am sorry to hear that you felt the tour time was not long enough. We do make every effort to provide the most comprehensive Middleton Place experience available, and our tour currently allows for more time on site than any other operator. Regarding the house tour, guests are informed in advance that the Middleton Place house is closed for restoration until mid April. I understand that this may have impacted your experience, and I am sorry if it was disappointing despite that prior notice. I also appreciate your comments about the guides at Middleton Place. While we partner with the site to provide access to their programming, the staff and guided experiences on property are managed directly by Middleton Place and are outside of our control. Reviews on this page reflect Chicora Tours, and we always strive to provide the highest level of service in transportation, coordination, and overall experience. Thank you again for your feedback. We truly value it and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again in the future for an improved experience. Warm regards, Nick Owner, Chicora Tours

Nice but not well supported by staff for the cost.

The place is a nice location with some great historic information and evidence along side nice gardens. However, Lunch time was too early at 11:30 & apart from one guided beyond the fields finding our way around and running order so we ended up backwards and forwards trying to see things we wanted to. You have to ask questions in the house as there is no audio guide to follow.

Response from the operator: Thank you for proving feedback on your experience at Middleton Place. We apologize for the inconvenience of having your tour itinerary incorrectly explained by the staff at Middleton Place. This concern has been addressed and despite your experience we genuinely hope to serve you again. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Day at Middleton Place with Chicora Tours: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Charleston.

How much does Day at Middleton Place with Chicora Tours cost?

    +

Prices start at $145 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Charleston usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Day at Middleton Place with Chicora Tours take?

    +

Plan for about 5.5 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Charleston is not rushed.

Is Day at Middleton Place with Chicora Tours worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 63 out of 100, which we label "Solid Choice". That score blends traveler sentiment (4.6/5 across 31 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Charleston, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Day at Middleton Place with Chicora Tours?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Day at Middleton Place with Chicora Tours suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 5.5-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Day at Middleton Place with Chicora Tours?

    +

Around 11 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Charleston can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Charleston and add a light layer if any part of the 5.5-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Day at Middleton Place with Chicora Tours start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Charleston within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Charleston?

    +

Charleston's best experiences are small: house museum tours with an architectural historian, Gullah heritage walks, harbour sails at sunset and Lowcountry food crawls through the market district. Plantation day trips vary enormously in how honestly they handle the history, and our ranking factors that in directly. On Outty we rank every Charleston experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Historic Charleston Guided Sightseeing Walking Tour, Charleston historical walking tour with a Professor of History at The Citadel, Charleston Eco Boat Cruise with stop at Morris Island Lighthouse. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Charleston?

    +

March to May and September to November, the two mild shoulder windows. Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Charleston?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
