Conveniently private transport in a crowded van with limited English guide but markets themselves are crazy and fun.

This turned out to be just transportation to and from the markets in a small, crowded van. Both are unique and worth the time. You pay an additional fee for the actual boat ride when at the floating market. Fees for a very brief long boat ride are included. The provider was on time and provided hotel pick up and return. They seemed organized. Poor language skills were a significant problem. The host was very difficult to understand and provided minimal info about the markets since he couldn’t communicate well in English.

My overall experience was okay. Probably won’t do it again for the second time.

I was a solo joiner so it’s fun meeting new friends from the tour. The railway market was a bit of a rush experience and a bit disappointing. The floating market was huge and i enjoyed my time there but the additional payment for paddle boat should be included in the tour. Thank you.

Response from the operator: Dear Myra We apologize for the misunderstanding. Please kindly note that this tour includes a long-tail boat only. However, if guests wish to enjoy a paddle boat, this option is available on site for an additional charge.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and Maeklong Railway Trip

Brilliant day! Visited both the Floating Market and the Maeklong Railway with Vivi our Tour Guide. Vivi was brilliant from start to finish, as was our driver Mr Tong. Vivi made contact with us before the trip and was so friendly, knowledgeable and fun for the kids too. She knew the best places to visit and where to stand for the railway - she also took lots of photos of our family. Would highly recommend this trip!!

Response from the operator: Dear Julie, Thank you so much for your wonderful review. We truly appreciate your kind words and support. We look forward to the opportunity to serve you again in the near future. Warm regards,/AvatarGo Team

    Fair

Be prepared to pay for your boat ride, not much but should be included. Guide made cameo appearances and little information offered

Response from the operator: Dear Nik We are sorry to hear about the confusion regarding the long-tail boat. Please allow us to clarify, the long-tail boat trip is included in the program, so we will begin with that experience. Afterward, if any guests are interested in taking a paddle boat, they can simply inform the tour guide and join this optional activity for an additional fee. For those who prefer not to join the paddle boat, you will have free time to enjoy the market at your own pace. Our team will meet you again at the designated meeting point in the market. We apologize for any misunderstanding and inconvenience caused, and we truly appreciate your understanding./Warm regards,

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Maeklong Railway From Bangkok: questions travelers ask

Practical detail on this experience, plus the wider planning questions for Bangkok.

How much does Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Maeklong Railway From Bangkok cost?

    +

Prices start at $34 per person. The final price depends on the date, the time slot and the number of travelers, and peak weekends in Bangkok usually price higher than midweek mornings. Live pricing and remaining availability are confirmed on the booking screen before you pay.

How long does Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Maeklong Railway From Bangkok take?

    +

Plan for about 7 hours from start to finish, not counting travel to the meeting point. Most travelers leave another 30 minutes on either side so the rest of the day in Bangkok is not rushed.

Is Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Maeklong Railway From Bangkok worth it?

    +

It holds an Outty Ranking of 57 out of 100, which we label "Worth a Look". That score blends traveler sentiment (3.9/5 across 28 reviews), the depth of that review evidence, recent booking momentum, value for money against comparable last minute in Bangkok, and how flexible the cancellation terms are.

Can I cancel or reschedule Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Maeklong Railway From Bangkok?

    +

Yes. Cancel free up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Inside that window the booking is non-refundable, and no-shows are not refunded.

Is Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Maeklong Railway From Bangkok suitable for kids and families?

    +

Yes, all ages are welcome. Families should still weigh the 7-hour running time, and strollers are easier on the earlier, quieter departures.

How far in advance should I book Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Maeklong Railway From Bangkok?

    +

Around 10 people booked this in the last 30 days, so popular slots go early. Two to three weeks ahead is comfortable in shoulder season, while summer weekends and holidays in Bangkok can sell out a month out. Same-day spots do open up when other travelers cancel, so it is worth checking if you are already in town.

What should I bring or wear?

    +

Bring photo ID, your booking confirmation on your phone, a refillable water bottle and comfortable shoes. Dress for the weather in Bangkok and add a light layer if any part of the 7-hour experience runs outdoors or after sunset.

Where does Damnoen Saduak Floating Market & Maeklong Railway From Bangkok start and how do I get there?

    +

The exact meeting point and directions are on your voucher once you book, and they sit in central Bangkok within reach of public transport. Arrive 15 minutes early: late arrivals are treated as no-shows by most operators.

What are the best things to do in Bangkok?

    +

On Outty we rank every Bangkok experience on the same 0 to 100 scale, and alongside this one the highest scorers right now include Bangkok Backstreets Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Old Siam Bangkok Food Tour with 15+ Tastings, Tingly Thai Cooking Class with Morning Market Tour. The city page groups everything into most popular, highest reviewed, last minute and family-friendly so you can build a day around what actually delivers.

When is the best time to visit Bangkok?

    +

Booking patterns follow the same curve: prices and queues climb in peak weeks, while shoulder season gives you better availability on the top-ranked experiences and more room to change plans.

How many days do you need in Bangkok?

    +

Three full days covers the headline sights without sprinting. A workable rhythm is one anchor experience each morning, such as this one, an unhurried afternoon in a single neighborhood, then a food or nightlife booking in the evening. Five days lets you add a day trip outside the city.

Do I book through Outty or through the operator?

    +

Outty ranks and explains the experiences, then hands you to Viator to complete the booking with the operator directly. The price is the same as booking on Viator yourself, and Outty earns an affiliate commission on the referral, which is how the rankings stay free to read.
